I’m disappointed with our last performance and frustration may be growing but if there was any truth to the suggestion that TW has been threatened then I’m even more disappointed. To potentially have major disruption at this point in the season would be crazy and counter productive. Let’s not implode totally. In the event that changes are necessary then they need to be made after the season has ended but, even though I’m less than happy currently, it’s only fair to give everyone the whole season before considering any action, whatever that may be.

We will make the play-offs but I am resigned to the fact that promotion would be a mistake. We would be straight down again. Even for the play-offs we may yet lose home advantage! I have some faith despite my comments but I feel we should now look to build for next season and accept what we are for now. To be honest, I didn’t expect too much at the start of the season and probably got a bit carried away by our early success but other teams have moved forward while we have begun to struggle and the remainder of the season could become quite painful. I hope not…but under promise and over deliver. So I’m not anticipating much and if results did improve then it would be a nice bonus.

And don’t forget it was Valentine’s Day…

Like others I couldn't make the game last night but managed to follow some of it online. Good result and, from what I hear, a good performance again. Hopefully, the same again on Saturday. Is Blair still with us, by the way?

Agree with your potential selection John. Let’s hope it happens…but I suspect not.

Goal difference could yet be crucial so we need to be ruthless as I’m sure TW will emphasise. I’d like us to start with two, if not three attackers and really go for it…but that’s not going to happen.

John H - agree completely that the performance Saturday was good but we must take at least one or two chances when so many are created. I would also settle for any sort of win tomorrow but something emphatic would lift the spirits and make a statement that we're back in business (as far as other clubs are concerned).
Mallard - I'm unlikely to make tomorrow (the wife might get upset as it's Valentine's Day)...but I'll be back on Saturday. Whatever else, we footie fans are resilient and keep coming back for me even when things don't go our way!!

I’m now looking for a big reaction on Tiesday and a win by at least three goals.

Assuming we can stay in contention then the double-header against Fylde could enable us to do it still. I have to say I was pleased with the effort and performance today and equally pleased with the set up, i.e. two attackers then three. It didn’t come off but on another day…. Why don’t we do that now away to teams so that we apply the pressure rather than having it applied? Whatever, we must ensure we keep taking points to ensure we’re at home in the play-offs.

I have to say that I’m worried about tomorrow’s game. We need three points but with Clunan and Barrett out the midfield looks weaker. I hope any worries prove to be misplaced but if I was betting my money would be on a draw. Anyone any info on the situations with those injured?

Agreed…I have said before we’re too defensive away from home. I’m all for TW but am just concerned that he hasn’t modified his approach to away games after repeated defeats to teams much lower down. Why not play two attackers? Cosgrave is on form yet spent most of last night on the bench. Why didn’t he start alongside Ponticelli? If we want to win the League we must take risks. Seeking to play safe isn’t working. I think we’re at a crunch point in the season - either we settle for the play-offs or we push hard for the title. The former should be all but guaranteed now (unless we bombed completely) so what’s to lose?

I’m sorry to say I have to agree. Why, why, why can’t we play with two attackers away from home? As you say. The remaining away games look difficult.

Just looked at our line-up…yet again, just one attacker. This is too defensive as I have said previously and doesn’t bode well for a result, sadly.

I’d like to feel confident about tonight but, regrettably, have a sinking feeling. Oh to be proven wrong…

Exactly. I could accept away defeats more if I felt we were going out to win rather than not to lose.
