General Discussion / Re: Chorley away.

Having now seen the highlights I think the first sending off was really harsh...and the second was also dubious but more understandable and probably wouldn't have happened had the referee not made the first decision. I hope the Club appeals against the first at least.

Whatever happened - one game doesn't define a season. It's still very early so we move on and hopefully regroup for the next game.

We'll be lucky to escape with four or five goals in the circumstances.

What on earth is going on?  Have we genuinely deserved the sendings off and bookings?  It seems quite amazing.

Poor end to the season and if the players can't manage such a game when a point was crucial then what of Tuesday?  We were lucky other results helped us. We have a second chance...but in all honesty, I think we'll get stuffed on Tuesday. Mind you, I don't think promotion would help given our squad and the finances. Better to build for a better season next year...consolidating what we've gained in this last campaign which has, to be fair, been better overall than expected.

Where's Gold today?  Is he injured?  If not, why is he not at least on the bench?  And I still bemoan the fact that Hughes is nowhere...but what can you do!

Play-off place still not guaranteed...we need to make sure by not losing to Chester. Fingers crossed as we have been vulnerable at home...

What's happened to Hughes?  Is he injured or just out of favour for whatever reason?

Last night's results just make Saturday's game against Chorley even more important and a total 'must win'. We can't afford any more slip-ups or poor home performances. If we play well and lose then fair enough...but anything less than a major effort is no good. We have five games to go and a play-off place is in our own hands although we have tough home games coming up...but to even have a chance is more than we could have hoped for...so let's do it!

Poor today - outclassed and outplayed. Can't see that we'll get more than a handful more points this season. It's been a decent season and we're much improved on last year but not good enough for a play-off place. We have to build for next season...keep the best and clear out those not good enough. Will AL stay?  I hope so, but who knows.

So so disappointing.... Mid-table performance. Play-offs would be amazing now.

Anything less than three points today and I fear for the play-offs...we're now running out of games with others still having them in hand. I know it's better to have the points rather than games in hand, but...

With most games being postponed a loss would put us in a difficult situation with teams below having several games in hand. A win is really essential to maintain any pressure on others - but it ought to be achievable. If it isn't...then I suspect we'll be mid-table at best by the end of the season.

Sorry to be a voice of reason!!?  Last year we struggled big time and AL came in and saved us from relegation. This year, to think we might win the League is fanciful. You can't transform a failing team into a championship winning side in less than one season...can you?  From the outset of this season a play-off place would have been an achievement and we're in the mix for that. Let's not get above ourselves. We're not yet a club that could live in the National League itself. We need to build in all respects. All teams will drop points against so-called poorer teams - just look at Curzon yesterday. It will happen to us again before May as it will to others. Let's just be positive.
