General Discussion / Re: Curzon Ashton
« on: April 24, 2023, 11:54:49 AM »
I reckon Curzon will be well up for a win against Fylde on Tuesday.

I would take them getting a Draw but Fylde would appear to have a soft last game against Bradford PA but watch out for surprises. Whatever happens we need to beat Curzon on 29th. COYL.

General Discussion / Re: Versus Kettering
« on: April 08, 2023, 07:16:42 PM »
I thought that the 1st Half was very scrappy with a poor Kettering side bringing Lynn down to their level. As we got closer to HT we started to get our act together and the goal was the tonic we needed. 2nd Half saw Kettering show a bit more spirit but we took control and stuffed 3more into the net before conceding a goal by a Kettering sub, Sheriff.

Over the past 3 - 4weeks we have not played well - reminiscent of playing under Simon Clark when the team were not liking his tactics and personality. Maybe TW was imposing something and the team were not comfortable with it   :dontknow:

However, 4games to go and we may be in with a chance of pipping AFC Fylde if they slip up.  :scarf: :scarf:

It's a big ask, however, the player Fylde had sent off, is their top goal scorer and talisman.

It was  :yellow card:  :yellow card: for the  :red card: so he will not be out-of-action for too long  :banghead;

Again, I mention that Aaron Jones is quite capable of playing yhe midfield role of Michael Clunan (Suspended). Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain on Right Wing Back would fit AJ's move to midfield. Cosgrave and Ponts up front (please don't play the Lone Striker game). Is Olly Scott fit? Three at the back - Josh Coulson, Kyle Callan-McFadden and Crowther and Dent's and Theo joining AJ in Midfield.

Just the Bench to fill  :dontknow:

Can we not get an effective and substantial Segregation Zone rather than some flimsy netting?

There needs to be at least 3 x Bays of separation.

Well, after 4mins and 2goals up I thought we were in slaughtering mode. Seems we took the foot off the pedal and this allowed Peterborough time to settle after being rattled by our fast start.

On 17mins their win attack raced past 3 or four players on the left and passeda low ball into a very open box. Tyler Denton did well to beat their strikers to the ball but it went wide of Paul Jones and into the net. Our Central defenders were not there and Tyler was about the only one contesting for the ball. Having said all that, Peterborough would have had a hard job to miss scoring for themselvers.

I thought Cosgrove had a good game. He chased long balls and put pressure on the defenders which usually caused them to play hurridly and not be able to gather and pass the ball properly.

Josh Barrett was not firing on all cylinders and made several errrors, losing the ball and poor passing by his standard. Cracking strike from trhe rebound off the wall and only fingertips by goalie saved a 3rd goal. Other than that I thought their goalie was quite poor. Aaron Jones played well forward and was always available on the right wing, as was Olly Scott.

All in all, a good game by all players - some below par - but we won against a spirited Peterborough Sports team who are worthy of their mid-table position.

How long does it take to put Covers on and off?

How much ManPower is needed?

Today (Wednesday) is nice and sunny, hopefully get the pitch an airing.

In addition to "Body-Cams" I would suggest improving the security of the Segregation Zone. There needs to be a more substantial barrier/screens between the two groups and an increase in distance of the zone.

Looking at then Weather Forecast for this weekend, especially Saturday, there is a verey high chance of rain.

Starting at 1200 o0n Saturday the % chances each hour are:

1200 - 52%, 1300 - 69%, 1400 - 84%, 1500 - 92%, 1600 - 96%, 1700 - 96%, 1800 - 92%, 1900 - 86%, 2000 - 77%

2100 - 68%, 2200 - 63%, 2300 - 57%, 0000 - 46%, 0100 - 35%, 0200 - 25%, 0300 - 17%, 0400 - 14%, 0500 - 13%

0600 through to 1500 (Kick Off) the rain chances are between 10 and 5%.

Will we be prepared to cope with this continuos downpour and the likelyhood of a Waterlogged Pitch?

Will there be a Pitch Inspection on Sunday Morning?

Sticking Gold up front as a Lone Striker is madness - he needs at least one but preferably two feeding off his Flick-Ons. Gold is not the niblest guy with his feet to run at defences.

It might have been better to have started Ken Charles alongside Gold whilst Ponticelli, Stephens and Widdrington are unavailable.

General Discussion / Re: HEMEL HEMPSTEAD ANYONE?
« on: November 17, 2022, 07:07:01 PM »
Hemel Hempstead lay 14th in NLS, same level as us. This may not be as easy as it might appear. However, I expect  good game with several goals with us winning 4 - 2.
