General Discussion / Re: Gloucester at Home

Dilly I don’t disagree with you about Carey but I don’t see him getting too many starts in the few months ( unless injuries dictate) so can see benefit in letting him go out and get some game time rather than getting splinters in his derričre with odd 10-15 minutes here and there.  We do seem to be on overloads with midfield players  ( Payne, Clunan, Jarv, Kelly, Hendo, Richards and Carey), yet only have the 2 main strikers.  Maybe a little shuffle around is needed.

Hendo is our Utility Player for Midfield and Striker, Jarvis is a Midfield but can step back into Defence, Kelly is naturally a Left Midfield/Winger but Fox is a Left Wing/Back.

Aaron Jones is also capable of Right Wing/Back and Midfield "General" in place of Clunan. Payne is Midfield/Attack alongside Hendo and Richards. Stewart can also come on as Midfield/Midfield-Attack with Barrows as Right Back (possibly Wing Back - allowing Jones to move into Clunan role)

McAuley is the lynchpin of the Defence and sorely missed on Saturday.

Chris Smith is fine as Centre Back alongside McAuley and Fryatt - releasing Jones, Fox on Wings and Jarvis back into Midfield alongside Clunan/Jones. Gash and Marriott as main Strikers with Hendo/Richards/Stewart supporting as Midfield/Attack.

My preferred Team:

Street

Jones/Barrows - Fryatt - Smith - McAuley - Fox

Clunan/Jones - Jarvis/Stewart

Henderson/Kelly - Payne/Richards

Gash - Marriott/Henderson

Four more bookings they must be stacking up a situation that needs watching.

Defence:  Rory McAuley 1 x Red + 2 x Yellows  - Ryan Fryatt 1 x Y - Nathan Fox 1 x Y  - Jones 2 x Y

Midfield:  Michael Clunan 2 x Y -  Sam Kelly 1 x Y - Chris Henderson 1 x Y

Strikers:  Michael Gash 2 x Y - Adam Marriott 1 x Y

1 x RED
13 x Yellows

Some of these are the usual suspects for "Backchat" to Ref (M Gash and M Clunan) and Aaron Jones can be a bit aggressive after he gets fouled.

Well down the Table and with a -6 GD. Only scored 7 and shipped 13 so defence looks a bit suspect.

Play like we can and a good result is in the offing. For a long trip I hope we get at least 1point but 3 would be nice.

Prediction:  3-1 Win

General Discussion / Rory McAuley's RED Card
« on: September 05, 2019, 03:15:14 PM »
A lot of speculation going on about the "rights" and "wrongs" of Rory's straight Red Card against Alfreton on Tuesday evening.

From my position in the Stands looking at the incident from behind I initially thought they were closer together and Rory had caught him with his elbow. The video clearly shows there was space between them and Rory was much further in front. As such there was no physical threat and Rory was getting away from No10. Why would Rory flail an arm back to intentionally hit him - purely accidental.

The BIG Question  :dontknow: Are King's Lynn lodging/have lodged an Appeal  :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

Transfer deadline has passed with Rotherham  earlier signing winger on loan from Rangers as Mallard predicted.
So it appears Marriott connection was a lot of hot air.
Always seems to be unnecessary and unhelpful rumours circulating from time to time, as well as a few "negative stirrers" on the live feed. I shall just add them to the list of posters I ignore in the future.
Agree that this rumour has been unhelpful and unnecessarily unsettling. I think that the specific nature of the rumour: Rotherham, gave it a credibility it didn't deserve. Whoever started it should hold their head in shame.

This particular rumour according to Mike came from someone who helps at the club, which gave it a little credibility? :dontknow:

Correct Grissles.

I posted that rumour on the live feed on Saturday (as a rumour - not fact )after a little birdie came up to his seat and told me that Adam Marriott was on his way to Rotherham. Someone else increased the rumour by saying that Adam was at Rotherham having a medical (later proved wrong as Adam was at Lynn). Where my "informant" got his info  :dontknow:

I shall keep my head high, thank you Stan.

To answer a few points raised here on the segregation issues.

The permanent area when erected will include an area of covered terrace for bad weather and will have entrance/ exit which will be used only by visitors. The permanent area, as most of you know, will be at the Tennyson end of the ground. the area will also include catering and toilets so all will be self contained.

Visiting supporters in the main stand will be housed at the Tennyson End of the Main Stand in a small area of seats divided by a net mesh. The Darlington fans who were in the stand Saturday were senior shall we say and had been arranged with the visitors ahead of the weekend that they would be ok to sit mixed for the afternoon.

The next fixture needing segregation will be Chester in October or any possible FA Cup fixture that may occur.

Darlington fans were at The Hospital End.

Any "under achievement" by Lynn might be due to the Darlington mediocre style of play they demonstrated. Thought they were average in skills and teamwork. Best player for them was No14 when he came on as Right Wing - certainly put some spark back into them and they suddenly woke up to the fact that they were 2 - 0 down and needed to do something.

We had quite a few Darlo fans in The Stand and they were on good form and behaved as real fans should (appreciative of their team and good moves/saves from the opposition).

I had a quick count of fans at Hospital End at approx 200 and poss 60+ in Stand.

Could it be Adam Marriott was "Rested" for the Alfreton game on Tuesday and give us a chance to try something new, albeit IC did make several tweaks before and at half-time.

Seems a strange time for a League Club to be coming in for a player so soon in the Season  :dontknow:
