When to be Elite and When not to be Elite - That is the Question.  :dontknow:

Why not stream it into the bars, charge people to get in making sure they adhere to social distancing rules? This means beer can be sold too and maybe food ? :dontknow:

Are you suggesting that fans can gather in the Bars at the Walks to watch the game, being played out on the Pitch, on TV  :dontknow:

Exactly Mall and more to the point he is MP for NW Norfolk, so why is he even mentioning Norwich....he should have highlighted the plight of Lynn and other local non league clubs in NW Norfolk

KES80, as for your ".... he should have highlighted the plight of Lynn and other local non league clubs in NW Norfolk" here is an extract from the Lynn News article (Posted by Kevin Holland):

"At Prime Minister's Questions yesterday, James Wild, MP for North West Norfolk, urged the Prime Minister to look urgently at a Sport Recovery Fund following the recent announcement that the re-opening of large scale sport events fromOctober 2 has been postponed.

Mr Wild, who was at the Norwich City vs Preston Championship match that was part of the pilot events on Saturday, said: "This threatens the viability of King's Lynn Town FC, as well as other clubs and sports that rely on income from gate receipts and matchday spending by fans. Clubs need support to ensure their future at the heart of our local communities."

The Prime Minister assured Mr Wild that the Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport is actively looking at solutions for clubs and sports."

I suggest that James Wild MP DID highlight the plight of KLTFC, other Clubs and other Sports.

Thought we lacked any real intensity in the game.  Maybe that will come once the serious stuff starts.

Certainly our ball retention was decent.  Cried out for Cameron King to pick passes out and drive us  forward with intent.

EDP write-up:

CK out injured with knee, hopeful Marriott back next week, IC looking at different combo's.

Good to see Michael Clunan back as good as ever and Ryan Jarvis played well. We were more assured when Henderson and Kelly came on and Richards went after everything and does not give up. Certainly missed Gashy up front.

It was a useful workout for team bonding but it has not clicked yet. Maybe trying some different combinations will see some better understanding.

Good news for some season ticket holders is they have managed to attend one game already.

Which game was that Mallard?

WLM.  Not my words.   The Chairman said on a podcast there would be no season ticket refunds as this would bankrupt the Club.  Reading about Macclesfield and Southend today should that ring alarm bells ?

I suggest people read these: :

(There is a line in the 2nd article that state "it is important to remember, however, the default legal position is that if you’ve paid for a game that won’t admit spectators then you are entitled to a full refund."

Sorry B&G but horse poo! The club has sold season tickets in the hope of the season starting (no refunds remember). So why can't tickets for the opening game not go on sale?  Surely both have the hope and criteria?  Only difference is you should get ya money back if Yeovil doesn’t go ahead.

If and its  a IF, the Season does not start then anyone who has bought a Season Ticket will be able to claim back their money regardless of Terms and Conditions saying  "No Refunds".

The Ombudsmen would declare that the expected service / product has not been delivered and therefore a full refund would be ordered. There may be a Section 75 draw back if purchased via a Credit Card.

This may cause havoc to most leagues this year with teams calling off games at short notice. Will we be able to finish the season in full or are there contingency plans in place to manage curtailed league/s  :dontknow:

Best wishes to the affected family and all others concerned - keep safe all.

Thanks Badger for the "Nomination" as Presenter.

I would love to give commentary but only at Home and not every game as I sometimes get hijacked by the wife to go somewhere. I have a strong voice (years training first aid and projecting my voice an parades and in battlefield conditions in the RAF Regiment) with dulcet (and Dorset) tones so it shouldn't grate too hard on the Norfolk ear. I would have to watch out for the odd expletive and the occasional "where's the man on the far side to collect the over-hit ball" ( :laughcry: :laughcry:).

Maybe several people on a rotational basis and if possible two each shift to ease the voice strain.

Boohoo perhaps if half of you lot wasn’t so negative all the time you might of managed to got in ... few people who’s done an amazing amount of time/work  over the summer watched the game , even if you’d been invited you’d find something to whinge about ... the club gave us a livestream so take that positive but I’m more worried you seem to be concentrating on whos watching than watching the team ... couldn’t of been much of a game then !!
For once peeps get a life

Blueboy, Behind Closed Doors applies to us all, the only people who should have been in the ground would include players, management, stewards (to monitor and conduct checks and act as ballboys, ref, ground staff, video op and streaming guys and accredited reporters etc. Not non-working volunteers invited to watch/spectate/fans.

General Discussion / Invited Guests at the Norwich U23 Game
« on: September 03, 2020, 08:47:44 PM »
On another site the subject of 3, 4 "invited guests" watching the game, and quite clearly seen in the far Stands during the 1st half, has had lots of comments.

Unfortunately The Fans of King's  Lynn FC Admin (JH) has had a sense of humour failure and removed all comments on the subject.

Lots of comments were against the entry of these volunteers as a reward for their work at The Walks. Good for them for their vo.untary time.

However, I believe - and so many others, that the Behind Closed Doors Rule has been contraveined by whoever invited them to attend. Albeit a kind gesture by "The Club" the BCD at Step 1 and above does not allow ordinary fans to attend and these persons were not attending as voluntary workers.

From looks of it they were friends or acquaintances of staff....

They were fans who had done voluntary work at the ground,should have been no fans at all regardless! :banghead; :banghead; :banghead;

Totally agree Gris. The matches at Step 1 and above are - or should be - Behind Closed Doors. That means players and Club/s personnel - NOT invited volunteers who should not have been invited as they are not part of management or employees.

There has been a bit of "slagging" going on on Facebook "Fans of the Linnets" about this very subject between some of those who were "invited" and some who also did voluntary work and were not invited.
