General Discussion / King's Lynn Town FC vs Bradford (PA)
« on: February 14, 2020, 10:59:31 AM »
Friday and the sun is shining on the righteous of West Norfolk, drying out the pitch ahead of another Home game.

Although much lower down the table Bradford will be hoping to cause the biggest upset of the Season - Bottom vs Top.

Our lead of 1point must be maintained whatever York City manage at Home vs Hereford - dare I hope for a Hereford Win or Draw  :dontknow:  :comeon: :comeon: Hereford.

See most of you at the Walks cheering the Team on - If not able to make it I will, as usual try to keep you updated on the LiveFeed.

A lacklustre performance and I'm sure the players are feeling jaded as well. Only Michael Gash played anywhere near their usual standard. Adam Marriott was very quiet but he did not get the service needed. Chris Henderson was closed down quickly and nothing went right for him or the team in the first half.

Not surprised that IC subbed Hendo but Nathan Fox was not that bad to warrant being swopped. However, the introduction of Ryan Hawkins and putting Steven Power out on the wings gave better service into the box. The packed defence and good goalkeeping denied us any clear chances. Kidderminster relied on the tried and tested attack on the break and it worked in the first half and might have been more dangerous in the 2nd.

Very disappointing but we must learn from it.

Great news.

I would like to see Jordan Richards, Chris Henderson and Adam Marriott commit.

WLM, I feel you made a fair point.
Clubs generally are quite poor in providing updates on injuries. It would be nice to get updates on them more often eg how is Micheal Clunan getting on....and certainly if there is to be a collection, then sufficient detail needs to be "out there"

Thanks KES80.

I feel I have opened a can of worms by my initial reply.

However, what are the facts/factors behind the decision that Ryan Fryatt's circumstances are deserving of financial support by means of a bucket collection?

Already mentioned has been Michael Clunan and there have been and are other players who have been/are "out of action" for some time. Are their circumstances different?

Whoever started this Bucket Collection needs to justify rather than just start it up. A little forethought would have negated all this speculation, argument and counter-argument.

Ryan has paid for the operation on his knee to repair cartilage damage  himself, which wasn't cheap I hasten to add,  and has also had to have time off from his full time job for the operation  and other appointments. Following almost nine years service to the football club we felt a collection to assist Ryan would be looked upon favourably .....

There, that wasn't hard was it?

Ryan has been a good servant to the Club and it is at times like this that help can be asked for and given - If we know why.

I keep telling my manager "Don't tell me to do something - Give me a reason why as well and I am more likely to do the job without moaning and telling you to FO".

It is not "Jump" and expect me just to jump without knowing why.

Firstly, may I say I am not a kill-joy or stingy - I have donated to 4 Pitch Squares, put 20 in the Pitch Covers and regularly buy 2 50/50 tickets and have a Season Ticket.

There seems to be a distinct lack of information about players and their injuries. Yes, we know Ryan Fryatt has been out injured for some time but hardly a mention of what happened, what the actual problem is, what treatment or operation and how he is progressing. Also what hardships he is suffering due to his injury.

Yet a bucket is to be passed around to collect donations. For what reason  :dontknow:

If we were to be given much more information and some background factors there might be more sympathy and generosity.

If someone came up to you in town and put a bucket under your nose you would want to know what its all about - I doubt you would just throw money into the pot without a reason.

Players, Officials and Fans - take your passport if you go the Chester FC as:

"The stadium is located in the Sealand Road Industrial Estate and straddles the England-Wales border.

The pitch and three stands are in Wales (Flintshire) with the east stand in England."

With so much talent in the squad and two added Harry and Natty just could not hope to get game time or even on the bench.

Wishing both good luck for the future wherever they go.  :comeon: :comeon: :comeon:

Just have a feeling that the new lad, if selected, will score today. The gate i predict will be 3200+.

Nearly did score with a "Power" shot that was spilled and Marriott pounced for the winner.

Crowd 4019.
