General Discussion / Re: Could be 1000 allowed in on opening day
« on: September 17, 2020, 10:10:17 AM »
WLM.  Not my words.   The Chairman said on a podcast there would be no season ticket refunds as this would bankrupt the Club.  Reading about Macclesfield and Southend today should that ring alarm bells ?

I suggest people read these:

https://www.gov.uk/accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds :

https://thefsa.org.uk/news/premier-league-clubs-begin-refund-process-with-one-exception/

(There is a line in the 2nd article that state "it is important to remember, however, the default legal position is that if you’ve paid for a game that won’t admit spectators then you are entitled to a full refund."

Sorry B&G but horse poo! The club has sold season tickets in the hope of the season starting (no refunds remember). So why can't tickets for the opening game not go on sale?  Surely both have the hope and criteria?  Only difference is you should get ya money back if Yeovil doesn’t go ahead.

If and its  a IF, the Season does not start then anyone who has bought a Season Ticket will be able to claim back their money regardless of Terms and Conditions saying  "No Refunds".

The Ombudsmen would declare that the expected service / product has not been delivered and therefore a full refund would be ordered. There may be a Section 75 draw back if purchased via a Credit Card.

This may cause havoc to most leagues this year with teams calling off games at short notice. Will we be able to finish the season in full or are there contingency plans in place to manage curtailed league/s  :dontknow:

Best wishes to the affected family and all others concerned - keep safe all.

Thanks Badger for the "Nomination" as Presenter.

I would love to give commentary but only at Home and not every game as I sometimes get hijacked by the wife to go somewhere. I have a strong voice (years training first aid and projecting my voice an parades and in battlefield conditions in the RAF Regiment) with dulcet (and Dorset) tones so it shouldn't grate too hard on the Norfolk ear. I would have to watch out for the odd expletive and the occasional "where's the man on the far side to collect the over-hit ball" ( :laughcry: :laughcry:).

Maybe several people on a rotational basis and if possible two each shift to ease the voice strain.

Boohoo perhaps if half of you lot wasn’t so negative all the time you might of managed to got in ... few people who’s done an amazing amount of time/work  over the summer watched the game , even if you’d been invited you’d find something to whinge about ... the club gave us a livestream so take that positive but I’m more worried you seem to be concentrating on whos watching than watching the team ... couldn’t of been much of a game then !!
For once peeps get a life

Blueboy, Behind Closed Doors applies to us all, the only people who should have been in the ground would include players, management, stewards (to monitor and conduct checks and act as ballboys, ref, ground staff, video op and streaming guys and accredited reporters etc. Not non-working volunteers invited to watch/spectate/fans.

General Discussion / Invited Guests at the Norwich U23 Game
« on: September 03, 2020, 08:47:44 PM »
On another site the subject of 3, 4 "invited guests" watching the game, and quite clearly seen in the far Stands during the 1st half, has had lots of comments.

Unfortunately The Fans of King's  Lynn FC Admin (JH) has had a sense of humour failure and removed all comments on the subject.

Lots of comments were against the entry of these volunteers as a reward for their work at The Walks. Good for them for their vo.untary time.

However, I believe - and so many others, that the Behind Closed Doors Rule has been contraveined by whoever invited them to attend. Albeit a kind gesture by "The Club" the BCD at Step 1 and above does not allow ordinary fans to attend and these persons were not attending as voluntary workers.

From looks of it they were friends or acquaintances of staff....

They were fans who had done voluntary work at the ground,should have been no fans at all regardless! :banghead; :banghead; :banghead;

Totally agree Gris. The matches at Step 1 and above are - or should be - Behind Closed Doors. That means players and Club/s personnel - NOT invited volunteers who should not have been invited as they are not part of management or employees.

There has been a bit of "slagging" going on on Facebook "Fans of the Linnets" about this very subject between some of those who were "invited" and some who also did voluntary work and were not invited.

Additional friendly fixture added to the list.

Kings Lynn V Norwich U23.   Tuesday night.

With no spectators allowed to attend the Chairman, on his podcast said the game on Tuesday would be live streamed for a fiver.  Details to follow

Has anyone got any details for "Live Link" ?

All I can find is details to follow. Is it correct
SEASON TICKET HOLDERS can join free?

I am hoping for a top half of the Table pushing for a Play-Off position. However staying in the Step1 League is a must.

General Discussion / Re: Cameron King

I think Sam Kelly and Chris Henderson are going head to head for the same spot. One or the other will be on the bench.

Great to see Cameron King back. There is now real competition for midfield with Jordan Richard's, CO, Michael Clunan and Ryan Jarvis all fighting for places.

Such a pity we can only play 3 subs. Unfortunately I can't see Ryan Hawkins keeping a regular place in the team but hope to see him on the bench or starting but being subbed.

Can't wait for the Season to start with fans able to attend. Season Ticket in the bag so got my piority seat booked.

B&G I was somewhat baffled by your response. With that I rushed next door to our neighbour who is a IT Expert. He was able to explain the situation immediately, you have what is commonly known as the keyboard zero glitch. This is when, for example a biscuit crumb or other foreign body falls through the keyboard buttons  and makes contact with the circuit board, therefore adding a zero to any number entered. I know this must be true as when I was able to see the linnets on one of my rare visits to the walks I was sat behind WestLynnMike. Whilst making a post on the match blog on the trust page I heard him say F**  and shaking his tablet to dislodge a crumb that had fallen from his pasty. If you still have any problems please let me know. Up the linnets :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

They do Pasties at the Walks?

You sure it wasn't a crumb from a packet of Walkers Crisps?   :farmer:

I hope he wasn't smuggling in contraband snacks!🤔

It was most likely a Burger or a Pie purchased in the Ground or a bit of Mars Bar. Anyway, Tablets do not have a Keyboard (as such) I suspect I was cursing because AFC Bournemouth had another goal ruled out by VAR or someone had made a stupid remark on the Online Link (DORIS??).  :laughcry: :laughcry:

Would Bevan be allowed to video Friendlies  :dontknow:

If so, what time lag to get it on YouTube?

Not being "tech savvy" is there a way of transmitting live stream and how much would it cost on a secure link and fans could pay?

On the subject of slick, or not.   It’s been over 2 weeks since The Chairmans last podcast.  Has he thrown the towel in on them?

They should be a bit "snappier" as he does ramble on a bit. That said, my personal opinion is he has done a good job with a few mistakes along the way (and I think he would admit that himself).
