Would suggest he is suspended for the FA Cup game

Thanks for providing that Nemesis-what a complex set of rules -different for National League to NLN it appears ...but yes after reading that I agree with your conclusion....I think ha ha

Very surprised to see us in the southern section of the draw. But not complaining.

Think that was the case last year too. It used to be that we would play Alfreton 3/4 times a season....and that's not great for any team

I believe that as the Cup is a different competition to the league it will mean that Cody can play against Cheshunt but is then suspended for Hereford.

Really good solid point that. Great to see such a positive mind set around the club. Very positive starting eleven and positive move to put a second forward on when down to ten men...onwards and upwards!

Sadly, Gt Yarmouth and Sheringham were both knocked out last round.I believe Grantham are in today's draw. Presumably a home draw against lesser opposition would be preferred. An opportunity to try out different permutations or a Saturday off for some while Fringe players are given a run out, depending on your point of view I guess.

Certainly a different line up with No out and big one up top.   Looks like AL has another string to his bow in only going with 1 strikers but plenty of young legs in support.

Excellent 3 points on the Road.  I see our next opponents got beat at home today.  Never know if that’s a good or bad thing.

I seem to recall that it's usually very windy there....have they still got moveable goals ?

I guess things are ever evolving Pink.  Seems we have a balance of young hungry midfield players with vastly experience Central defenders and top end players.  I guess that’s a policy AL has adopted

I have noted your new role Mall of Club Forum Rep :laughcry:

To me this signing only makes sense if AL is going to go really on the offensive in matches, both home and away.I that scenario he could play the two Josh's for 60 mins and then sub them with Hughes and the new lad for the remaining 50, whilst having Crane and a back 4. But if we go to Radcliffe and Scarborough with a back 5, looking to stifle and get something on the break then it makes no sense at all....and given as you say they are young, hungry and good players for the level, I can see some leaving before long.
Interesting that one of the criticisms AL made of the squad he inherited was that there were too many of the same type in the squad.
Prediction for next two:

With a back 4 and attacking line up, 3 points Saturday and 1 point Tuesday.

With a back 5, just 1 point Saturday and zilch on Tuesday

General Discussion / Re: Lynn News article

Welcome to the NLN set up when you are based in Norfolk. It's good that AL has highlighted and questioned it again. Northern clubs have no idea of the extra geographical challenge of trying to compete in this league that Lynn face in comparison to most other clubs. I note they often comment on the huge journey they face to come to The Walks, once a season, when Lynn are doing that distance every other fixture

By reckoning, that's 5 attacking midfielders plus the AM and Johnson as a holding midfielder and not including our winger......... difficult job keeping everyone happy and giving people game time.

Always amazes me that everything is wrong when we lose but everything is fine (assume it is as nobody talks about it) when we win......

It's really good that these issues are arising early doors I feel.It is a team with a lot of new additions and finding the way to get the best out.of everyone will take time. It's also a steep learning curve for the Management Team too. The Lynn crowd can be harsh and with the investment in a full time team with all that that brings, there is an expectation now for a team that's pushing for promotion. It's a far cry from last season's survival aim and I suspect life at Curzon. The one fixture that Linnets fans would really be hoping for a resounding win in, would probably be the home derby with Sports, so I am not surprised that there is quite a reaction to such a defeat.

Not at all. I’m saying one size doesn’t fit all and sometimes having all the benefits isn’t always enough.   Sometimes it’s down to human nature and will to win.    In the last two meeting between these teams, at the Walks the so called underdog has come out on top.   Coincidence?

I don't think so........ it's that underdog mentality and canniness too. Some sides in the NLN remind me a bit of Wimbledon of old...they know how to win. No point in being upset by their exuberant celebrations in the dressing room afterwards.......if you lose a local derby to a side that is part time and does incredibly well to survive on gates of 300/400 you can expect that...and they have some decent players too of course. What they do get, is the maximum out of what they have.. Lynn are not doing that yet. Personally, if Monday was a step too far for some of the starting 11, then why not use the squad..?.. that's what it's for....is Isaacson fit? A decent full back , instead of playing someone out of position......also the young attacking midfielder..where was he ?

Time to take a deep breath.......and get behind the team I guess. We are all feeling the frustration and things are a little raw. I have seen the interview with AL and his frustration is also plain to see.

Guess two games in 48 hours was too much for us

. Somewhat frustrating that we couldn't find a way to win today and build on what had been achieved in Liverpool. Personally, I just don't understand why we went with 3 centre backs again.......are we so concerned about the forward lines of Alfreton and Peterborough that we have to compromise our set up ?

Good crowd today..........shame they didn't see better

.....and perhaps unsurprisingly the NLN was the worst league in the study. Going forward that should hopefully shine a spotlight on the league and encourage improvement.
