General Discussion / Re: Season tickets« on: June 06, 2024, 06:55:37 PM »![]() I am afraid life isn’t fair and it’s human nature in trying to obtain a special offer or sale bargain whether it’s washing powder, new jumper or anything else as we all try to make savings. If it helps the club out why not join in. 65

General Discussion / Re: Questions« on: June 04, 2024, 10:02:50 PM »![]() I can remember one match where at halftime a drain plugs was pulled up near the centre circle and the surface water was swept away before the second half. Players managed then and with the old leather balls not the lightweight balloons they play with now 67

It’s the same story with any sport you get those who willingly help whether it be finance, coaching, food etc, however when they leave it’s difficult to find someone to fill the gap. When it comes to finances football is expensive and I doubt whether there are any non league proffesional or semi proffesional teams that can survive without some form of sponsorship or donations.I expect more to disappear including some League 1&2 teams as Bury and Macclesfield did.

Let’s hope AL is better at recruitment than the last 2 one who didn’t seemingly have a clue or was trodden on by the owner and the other who bought new players in knowing what was needed to retain national league status after being given an extra year but in the long run didn’t seem bothered and took a hefty payout from what I understand.

Another team bites the dust that’s 4 with last seasons losses. The powers that be need to realise that if financial help is not fed into non league football more teams will fold. We were lucky last season. One help to reduce costs would be a reorganisation ofthe league structures to cut down travelling and associated costs.

Hargreaves will leave a large hole to be filled. He certainly gave his best. Hopefully he’s not gone to the Widdler.
