General Discussion / Re: Boost the budget

When the club brings in new people, it seems that very often we also get new members on the forum who preach the good word. It seems that this time they know the power of VPN. Even if perhaps they put too much faith in it! :)
Why not? When bored, it's fun to chat on the forum. That's what forums are for, isn't it?

Creating a separate thread rather than this getting lost in the season ticket debate.

Details of the scheme here https://www.kltown.co.uk/boostthebudget/

For those that don't want to open the link, basically there are levels of monthly contribution that get you into a draw - £5 draw for a signed ball or mascot package or hospitality for two - £10+ and the prizes are visit to morning training (can take part if you want), travel with team & go to boardroom, chairman for a (home) game, face on programme, go on a scouting mission plus other 'benefits' depending on level of monthly contribution.  On the face of it seems a good idea, we are not a fan owned club like Darlington or Chester so there will always be a degree of scepticism but this scheme does have some 'money cannot buy prizes' that might appeal to some and are relatively cost free to the club.  Hopefully there are some that will look at what they are saving on a season ticket and will consider putting some of it back into the club.

The prizes look very good. Maybe it's not so expensive, but it improves fan loyalty, doesn't it? I'd like a prize like that.

General Discussion / Re: New owner at Peterborough Sports

Not sure if this has been mentioned on the forum:

I wonder what ambitions we are talking about. If he is a real businessman, as mentioned earlier, will he have the ambition to invest money rather than make money?  :coffee:

Club really does need an off field visionary

It doesnt have to be the same old same old

Not sure we need a 'visionary', I would settle for a few years of steady proactive competence

A year long tilt at the title struggled to get people through the gates for a large chunk of the season, I dread to think what attendances a few years of steady proactive competence would attract!

Whilst we would all like average gates to be higher we have to be realistic about what is a 'good' average gate at the Walks.  We have a large contingent of floating fans who will come to the big games (York, Stevenage etc) and if we can get that group to come to a few extra games each season that would be great but what we also need is to develop more regulars and that means supporting Jody and what the LitC team are doing and for me that is all about doing the basics well

I think new methods of engagement are needed. For example, active social networking.

500k!

That's the WOW factor, promotion bonus or not!

Odd, because Posh are known for their good and promising deals. One wonders how they managed to let a player go without a bonus.
