New Signings

Whatever is going on at our club.
We have probably three injured players not available tomorrow from an already small squad but not a sniff of a new signing appearing before the next game.
Backie who has been great in keeping us upto date this season can you offer any hope ?  :banghead;

According to Lynn news today, one of the 7 days approaches has turned us down and Setch can't speak to the other until after Saturday. Also said that Sam G has turned down an approach from Cambridge City. Setch did say he may try and get another loan signing in as well

We really are down to the bare bones tomorrow, getting worrying now?

As a rule I try to be optimistic about supporting my team, but yes we do seem to be struggling squad wise at the minute. Tomorrows game has the potential to go two ways. It could be another Banbury/ St. Neots and we get sliced apart in the first half or we put in a Herculean performance and come away from Somerset with something that we can take into Mondays game. Unfortunately we do not yet have last season's away form, our defence is makeshift, the main striker is not yet firing and our main creative midfielder is obviously struggling with his confidence. COYL!!!

A little Bird has whispered in my ear that Backie has signed a new player to boast his squad.  Have to give Robbie is due, he doesn't let the grass grow.

Anyone else heard this or who the player could be ?

Maybe easier to attract a step 6 player to Lynn than the a step 3 player.  Plus the money expectations must be somewhat less.   Or could be Backie has a silver tongue.  :laughcry:

A bit more detail about him on the KLTown site.

King’s Lynn Town are pleased to announce the signing of talented young prospect Danny Emmington.

The versitle 21 year old, Has been plying his trade at centre back for Thurlow Nunn League Division One side Wisbech St Mary.

The Wisbech raised youngster, Made his breakthrough with his local team after playing academy football for Norwich City. At the age of sixteen the talented sportsman also made his debut for Wisbech Town Cricket Club first eleven, he has also represented England at Pool.

After leaving The Fenmen, Emmington linked up with March Town United where he continued to be recognised as one of the area’s hottest properties.

King’s Lynn Town Manager Gary Setchell says he has been tracking Danny for sometime and keeping a eye on his progress, I think this signing might raise a few eyebrows like when we signed Matty Castellan from step five Football but I am confident like Matty, Danny can make the step up to three with our guidance. The clubs philosophy at the moment is to try and get all the best local talented youngster’s from around this area like we have done with Dylan, Toby, Matty, Michael and Ryan and we are sure that Danny is capable of joining that group of talented players we have at the club.

Reserve boss Robbie Back who recently faced Emmingtons club Wisbech St Mary where he coincidently scored from the spot last month said, Danny was their best player on the pitch that night and look a very confident player and looked good on the ball, It’s fantastic that Gary has signed him as I think he will be another successful local young player we have at the club.

Danny is eligible to make his first team debut in The Linnets home FA Cup game against Brigg Town.

The football club would also like to put on record a big thank you to Wisbech St Mary for their assistance in the transfer, The club will be taking a full first team for a friendly next summer for a pre-season fixture.

Hopefully he'll make a similar impact to Matty Castellan.

Good to see Setch going into the lower leagues to sign players as there are plenty of gems to be found. Hope he does well and doesn't end up on the bench when everyone is fit.

http://www.wisbechstmaryfc.co.uk/danny-emmington-secures-big-move/

We can confirm that Danny Emmington has secured a big move to Step 3 Kings Lynn, Contact was made only Yesterday for Danny and after Conversations with Kings Lynn Boss Gary Setchell the Club agreed to expedite Danny’s transfer, we felt as a club this was only right and would not attempt to stand in the way of a great opportunity for Danny.

Good news for the Club. However, it's the Right Back position that needs strengthening what with Ryan Fryatt out injured.
