Ryan Fryatt

Any news on how Fryatt's comeback with The Reserves went ? Having him back in the first team will be like signing a new player.

What's the situation with Charlie Butt ? Surely the club isn't going down the route of giving other clubs players games in the Reserves at the expense of our own young players. After all the Res has to be all about developing players on for our benefit.  Can we assume Charlie is coming back to the club full time.

We travelled to Long Melford without, Captain James Spittlehouse who's partner had baby Zac James on Friday and Simon Bird who has dislocated his shoulder last weekend and will need a operation in the summer but should be back in a few weeks. Danny Setchell was injured with a terrible tackle playing for the Under 18s which will prob keep him out for a few weeks. Ben Baxter Hunt was unavailable through work and Nathan Howard has unfortunately left the football club due to work commitments. Luke Pearson was with the first team and Under 18s Keeper Charlie Congreave was injured playing on Thursday...... so had the headache of trying to get a keeper late on Friday, managed through one of Anglian Comb contacts to draft in ex Diss and Thetford Keeper Rob Goodwin.
Thought everything was against us Saturday morning when we picked the bus up and it was doubled booked but finally managed to get all the lads there by cars.
Charlie Butt made his second debut for the club, Ryan Fryatt made his comeback from injury and so did Ryan Harnwell.
Zac Fountain scored just before half time with a header from a corner, he and Ryan Fryatt was excellent all afternoon, they didn't lose a header.
Charlie Butt scored a great individual goal on 50 mins and Tom Mcleish wrapped up the game when he  scored from the edge of the box.
Great team performance from the lads and special mention to Charlie Butt, Nathan Daw and Keeper Rob Goodwin who was excellent.
Goodwin, Shipp, Fryatt, Fountain, Ward, Stannard, Daw, Mcleish, Butt, Frohawk, Harnwell
Subs Used J White, Gibson, Palmer.
Not used Curson
Booked Ward.
Away to Sudbury Res next

Charlie is still a young lad himself and has plenty of time to break into first team again. Great to see Ryan come through the game and keep a clean sheet! Fingers crossed that's him back for good. Congratulations to spits on his baby and let's hope Birdy pulls on a Lynn shirt again as heard Swafham and Ely have both been in and around him!!

I am not a bit surprised that other clubs are after Simon Bird.

Just wish he were available to play regularly for the first team - a real asset to the club.
