He had the best care possible last night.
He had 2 great physios and thier club secretary who is a critical care nurse plus myself with the equipment he needed to aid in his care on secnce so hopefully will make this a speedier recovery with having the care on site. This was great team effort by all. Just spoken to St Ives and as myself send our thoughts to Matt and his family

Club Statement regarding Matthew Castellan

Linnets manager Gary Setchell has this afternoon spoken to Matty Castellan after the young defender was knocked unconscious.

Castellan was taken to Hinchingbrooke hospital and was monitored throughout the night after he suffered a severe head injury that saw last nights game against St Ives delayed for nearly half an hour whilst he received crucial treatment.

Manager Gary Setchell described last nights incident as the worst injury he had seen in thirty years of football.

Setchell was also quick heaped praise on club physio Phil Ward who spent time with Matty on the pitch and at the hospital last night.

King’s Lynn Town Football Club would also like to put on record their sincere thanks to supporter Paul Hampson and officials of St Ives Town who assisted Phil with Caring for Matty whilst they waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

Matty’s family would also like to thank their supporters and teammate’s for their messages of support at this crucial time.

Castellan’s family have asked for privacy during this time and any information about Matty’s condition will be made through the football club.
If you have achieved all your objectives, you have set your targets too low!

Matty came home last night and will be out for at least a couple off months according to status on Facebook. Great to hear he's ok and back home. I wish Matty a speedy recovery and can't wait to see him back at the walks.
