Not Long now
« on: July 31, 2017, 12:15:20 PM »
Final friendly coming up on Saturday away at Crown meadow ( or whatever its new name is).  Do we think that Culverhouse will go with this starting line-up or will it still be about getting minutes into people, and are there places still up for grabs ?

Have to say this must be the strongest looking squad we have had since we re-formed.   There is bound to be a few disappointed players come the season kick-off. What will happened to the surplus players ? Reserves, let go, or out on loan ?

Do the fans think the squad now has the right mix and balance or are we maybe a midfield player short ?

Thoughts......

Would Andrew Crofts fit the bill?

Think you mean Andrew Crofts.

I'm still waiting for your predicted signings of Ingram from Gorleston & King from Thetford........

Going back to Mallard's post - I think the team that started on Saturday will be the starting XI (bar injuries). Maybe Gash for Siddons (still hoping something can be done to get him signed up)?

Paul,  has Gash done a pre-season anywhere ? if not cannot see how Culverhouse could go with him from the off...maybe on the bench and to come on if for example we are chasing the game.

Andrew Crofts  he is the ex Canary ( played under Culverhouse), thought he was at Gillingham last season.  Big drop in standard to come to us.

Gash had pre-season with Leyton Orient

As do many others. I can't see the Club letting him slip through their fingers. We must be due to hear somethin positive on the matter very soon now.

Don't know how true it is, but apparently he played 90 mins for Deeping on Friday as he is friends with their manager and lives out that way.

Mettam, Gash, Hilliard and Siddons are all needed; otherwise we are going to be in difficulties if injuries arise. When all fit, two playing and at least one on the bench.

Should give us a really strong reserve side.  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Apart from Fraser Blake-Tracy in for Jordan Yong, the defence is still the same - Sam Guaghran, Ward and Ryan Fryatt. Matty Castellan and Shipp in reserve.

I think IC is fairly happy with the defence but needs to beef-up the midfield with defence in mind, especially as he seems to be playing attacking full backs without dedicated wingers.

I would like to see how the team would play without Sam G mopping up at the back. He was getting tired on Saturday in the last 20mins and made a few mistakes through lack of pace.
