Match preview V Weymouth
« on: October 06, 2017, 10:29:27 AM »
Lynn have a tough task ahead of them when they travel to Weymouth on Saturday - recent meetings show it is a club they have managed to score just the one goal against 495 minutes of football. However, Lynn have the best defence in the division in terms of goals conceded per game and Weymouth have yet to manage a home clean sheet.
The Terras occupy tenth place in the table, the positioned they finished in last season, and have had mixed results, defeating current league leaders Kettering 3-1 but losing by a single goal at home to lowly St Ives, giving the Saints their only league win of the season.
On Saturday they bowed out of the FA Cup going down 2-1 to National South side Chelmsford City.
Weymouth added much travelled striker Matt Tubbs to their squad on Tuesday.
The 33 year has joined the Terras on a month's loan from Havant & Waterlooville which makes Weymouth his 16th senior club. Born in Salisbury he played for his home club against Lynn in 2004. His stay with Salisbury saw him net over 100 goals in 248 appearances.
His career saw him play twice for England C and he went on to play for Bournemouth and Portsmouth amongst others.
He made his Weymouth debut on Tuesday evening, scoring twice in the 3-1 league cup win against Wimborne.
