PITCH
« on: October 06, 2017, 07:03:21 PM »
What is going on at the club at present.
Here we have an urgent change of venue as advised by the club with the opposition advising it's because of an unfit pitch.
No information from the club whatsoever apart from advising a change of venue.
In over 60years of being involved in local football I have never heard anything like it.
Has no one at the club got the balls to come out and tell us the truth about what's going on.
Will the pitch be fit for 2 home games next week ?

You mean after all the plaudits being handed out because the pitch was the best it has ever been?  What a load of old rowlocks, never known it in my life!!  :banghead;

no mention of the pitch from woodbridge

WTFC‏ @Woodbridgetown · 23h23 hours ago

Hot of the press! This Saturdays game at @officialKLtown is now at @Woodbridgetown due to kings Lynn having work carried out at their stadium. @thurlownunnECL

Maybe the night time 'visitors' have been back and caused damage inside the ground or possibly extra security such as the barbed wire is being installed.

No chips again this Saturday!

Was told last Saturday it was being swapped due to first team so must have been true as it’s happened  :banghead;  :nilpoints:

Do we know for certain that the game no longer going ahead at the Walks is due to the pitch?
Other suggested reasons are:

.Barbed wire being installed to deter unwelcome campers in the stand.
.Fitting of a glasswasher.
.the grass needs cutting.

Surprisingly I've not read that anyone has suggested there's a big function on that needs to use the facilities.
As we're not getting any further information from Club, has anyone else got any other suggestion as to why the Club needed a fixture switch?

So why when the club put out its weekend preview did they say the match was at home only for them to say it was an urgent fixture change two hours later.
Does that mean there will no further reserve home fixtures on a Saturday when the first team are at home the following Tuesday?

I don't know about it being discussed last Saturday but I can tell you that at least one Reserve Player knew on Monday that something was being planned.
To describe it as urgent is nonsense.

When's the next Tuesday night fixture for 1st team?

Saturay 21 Oct Reserves home to Leiston with First team home to Bishop Stortford on the Tuesday so they might as well re-arrange it now.  :laughcry:

It will be interesting to see if that's what happens.

Just hope it is a decision that doesn't alienate even more people, some will still turn up tomorrow, those that don't do social media, maybe they should bill the club for a wasted journey?  :bankrupt:

According to one of the club's up-front media team on Facebook it appears as if he knows why the game has been called off so you have to ask the reason why does nobody else know?
It's called transparency.
How ironic is this after reading the post of another media official on here a few days ago!

The pitch will ALWAYS be ready and fit for purpose for the first team
