Match preview v Farnborough

Farnborough Town v King's Lynn Town

Saturday 9th December

It is a Canaries re-union on Saturday when Lynn travel to Farnborough for the first time.

Farnborough's squad includes striker Jamie Cureton who at the age of 42 is still scoring goals, notching eight league goals so far this season. Cureton began his career at Norwich City in 1994 and has recorded over 700 Football League appearances scoring over 250 League goals. He has a rather unique record of having played and scored in the top eight divisions in English football. He has played and scored against Lynn before, playing the full 90 minutes when Norwich City visited The Walks in July 2007 at a time when Ryan Jarvis was also with the Canaries.

Farnborough had a number of seasons at Conference level but financial problems saw them drop down the leagues, falling from Ryman League Premier to the Central Division of the Southern League at the end of the 2015-16 season despite finishing 18th. They did however recover to gain promotion last season via the Central Division play-offs, fittingly as they did finish in second place some 13 points ahead of third placed Barton Rovers.

This season they have faired better away from home having managed just two home league wins and have failed to keep a clean sheet. On Wednesday evening Gosport Borough won their first away league game of the season when they defeated Farnborough 2-1 lifting them off the foot of the table.

Lynn have played Farnborough just once before, losing 4-0 at The Walks in a 4th qualifying round FA Cup tie in 2001.

Or the fans forum. Not a happy bunny lot. Talk of borrowing a local Cricket Clubs scoreboard for Saturday.

Just had a listen MAC. Sounds a right Dog nDuck
Outfit. Players telling the Manager they ain't available on the day of the game. The surprise at this level is he accepts it and still puts them in the squad for the next game.  Given up on this season as well.  Seems a club in a right mess with little to no direction.

Another 3 points today, let’s keep increasing the gap between us and our rivals whilst some are not playing and others have been postponed.

AFC Bournemouth may well have Scouts at today's match - will they be impressed by any players on show?
