Must be moves on the horizon then, quite surprised at the timing of this considering how well he had performed in recent weeks, after a poor couple of months.

Earlier on this season would have been pleased he was gone. Think recently he has had some cracking games. So good luck Sam wherever you go

Good luck Sam, he will be missed. Does this mean Castellan? is returning.

Disappointed to see him go but could definitely tell the difference between him and wardy this last few matches.

Sam Did a decent job for us...Maybe a little passed his best when he re-joined.  Lowestoft probably had his best years.     Good Luck to the guy where ever he ends up.

What was the name of the centre half Sam got for the Club as a loaner last season, and where is he now ?

The lad is 29 years old (27-31yrs are prime) and it is typical of this manager. Bet he was released by phone so he doesn't face Sam up!! Another local lad dumped. Hilliard and Castellan next. It will all end in financial tears!!

I wouldn't want to wish any player anything but the best but Sam had limitations at this level. His positioning; strength in the air; timing and tackling are as good as any of our defenders but lack of pace and mobility (he got turned easily for Kettering's goal on Monday) and dodgy distribution have let him down.

Sam has a decent football brain, Seemed like he was battling his weight some of the time with us.  Still maintain he was at his best ( fittest) while at Lowestoft.   Age is one thing, being fit is another NR.  As for it all ending in tears, maybe, maybe not.   Sure as heck wont be the first time.  Money worries have followed this Club since way back.  NR, maybe even in your days ?

A pity the club can't tell us the reason for this decision. Not good enough? Found someone as good but less expensive, to be announced a training tonight? Need to save money? I guess we wait and see.

Wish Sam all the best and whilst I wouldn't disagree that 27-31 maybe 'prime' for the average player it was pretty clear that Sam was struggling this season.  I didn't see Sam at Lowestoft but think Mallard may be right in that they saw his best years although his contribution in the past couple of seasons in what was a (generally) young, inexperienced squad has to be recognised.  However this year he has looked limited both in pace and in the way IC has encouraged the team to try and play from the back so if the squad needed a bit of a mid season shake up its no great surprise that Sam has been released.  Personally I would like to see Castellan given a go but would like to think IC has someone lined up before letting a regular starter leave.
