King’s Lynn Town v Dorchester Town

Saturday 6th January

Lynn look to return to winning ways when they take on Dorchester Town at The Walks on Saturday.

Although the Magpies occupy 20th place in the table they have picked up to very respectable results in their last two outings with a draw in the derby against Weymouth on Boxing Day followed by a victory over suddenly out-of-form Tiverton Town. The Magpies had a poor start to the season without a win in seven league games. Victories over bottom clubs Gosport Borough and Dunstable improved the record to two wins in fifteen but they were removed from both FA competitions by lower league opposition.

Loan signings helped the Magpies turn the corner. Mo Baghdadi a winger from Bristol Rovers, managed four goals in the 6-0 win over Basingstoke. Baghdadi has moved on for a loan period with Poole Town but winger Antonio Diaz's work experience loan from Bournemouth has been extended with the Magpies.

Manager Steve Thompson is hopeful of having a full squad available, former Gillingham striker Phil Ormrod the only minor doubt.

Lynn could record the double over the Magpies having won at The Avenue Stadium in August thanks to a goal from Craig Parker and a Michael Clunan penalty.

I'm disappointed that pantomime villain Nathan Walker no longer plays for Dorchester! He kissed Lee Stephenson on the cheek a couple of seasons ago in attempt to wind him up!

Solid performance, especially first half. Dorchester the worst team to visit the walks this season?

Played well today, 3 points was the goal, interesting few games coming  up ,good attendance today!looking forward to next coming months,so many negative posts on this forum, it goes days without people posting, one or to eager to jump on comments, but we are second tonight, great team and manager, and chairman who has invested a lot of money in club, why can't we get behind the club and chairman, and hopefully get out of this league,600 plus people turned up today, after Christmas, which I think is fantastic, let's hope for a great 2018....come on everyone we all want the same goals?????? :cup2:

Totally agree topstanders mate, before start of season if anybody said we would be top at start of 2018 we would all taken that, we were in total control today, can only give credit to chairman and manager, chairman for giving the manager what he needs and manager for getting the right players and playing some great football, just looking forward so much to the rest of the season, onwards and upwards, come on you linnets
