Ground Development Fund
« on: October 15, 2018, 07:54:47 AM »
The Trust have announced details of the Ground Development Fund.

From Home page:

The end of the 2008-09 season saw King's Lynn Football Club finish their first, and only, season in Conference North in 17th place and relegation followed as improvements identified during a Ground Requirements inspection had not been carried out despite the Club having been given ample notice.
Stephen Cleeve made it clear, when he took up the reins at King's Lynn Town FC, that his ambition was to see the football club achieve promotion to the National Leagues and beyond.
Having studied the relevant Ground Grading Requirements, it is estimated that substantial financial outlay will have to be made in order to satisfy the requirements necessary for promotion to the next step. Just some of the works required are as follows:-

Four more turnstiles
A segregated area for visiting fans.
Toilet facilities within the segregated area.
Communication from the referees room to the players changing rooms.
Dispensation would have to be sought to keep the wooden fence surrounding the ground.

Mr Cleeve is aware of this project which will be managed solely by The Trust, and any monies raised will be ring-fenced in a separate account that will only be used to fund ground infrastructure developments identified by a Ground Grading inspection should KLTFC achieve promotion.

Prior to the project going public, the Trust managed to raise funds which, through various donations, total in excess of £2,500.

If you wish to help this cause donations can be made online via PayPal using the "Donate" link on the Home page (you don't need a PayPal account just a debit/credit card) or via bank transfer (BACS) to Co-operative Bank Account Number 65734670, Sort Code: 08-92-99. All donations must specify for “Ground Development Fund” or “GDF”. Alternatively cheques made payable to The Blue & Gold Trust and annotated “Ground Development Fund” on the back can be forwarded to The Blue & Gold Trust, 39, King John Avenue, King’s Lynn PE30 4QB. Again any donations should be annotated GDF.

All donors will receive a receipt if their contact details are provided along with their donation. It is also planned to raise GDF funds through various other projects throughout the season. Fund raising progress can be monitored by checking the "thermometer" on the home page and news of updates will appear there and on the forum.

Chairman Stephen Cleeve does not seem impressed. He was quite critical in his "Notes" in the Buxton game's Programme.

Seemed a full on attack on the Trust and Phil Ellis in particular.  Good way of reaching out to a fans group, by attacking them because they won't buy him a new boiler, and they won’t pay for the ground improvements until they are needed. Extra turnstiles ? What for 220 people.

I don't understand Cleeve's reference to Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust who have two members on the board and are one of the larger shareholders in the club. Not certain what his point is - no doubt the Trust would like to be in that position. KLTFC have one share, one shareholder and no board.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the hard earned money of match going Linnets, was to be wasted on Legal fees.  Investigating  fellow Linnets raising money, err to be used for the same clubs benefit.  Absolute madness.  Me thinks someone has lost the plot.   :banghead;
