Is 'the squad' looking stronger after this performance? Is Lee Stevenson back to full fitness? Great performance by the lads.

Well; after 51/2 years there is the obvious rewards (note Mr Chapman)  for introducing local players with interest and intent!! Patience is the virtue as they will have highs & Lows!

Like Tazzy said  .. 'who is Buster ?'    With Setch now in control of all things at the Walks, There seems   good feel Factor at the club.   Was It Not Buster who didnt even want a Reserve side ?  Thankfully all thyat has now changed.  Begs the question, What is Buster's role now and has he anything worthwhile to contribute ?  Or Is he just better to leave everything in Setch's very capable hands  ?

What ever you think about Buster, remember without him we didn't have a team or a pot to p--- in. Do not bite the hand that feeds you.

And surely, unless I am missing something obvious, though Setch' is running things day to day, Buster still very much holds the purse strings and is the ultimate decision maker??

Setch is definitely running the show with the budget he was given and I don't know if he gets the money he raises or if any goes to Buster. However it is Buster who has encouraged the use of local players. THe introduction of the U18's and the link between the team managers and coaches has given the best of the youngsters much more of a chance to progress, within the club, and the team that played last night is proof of that progress and long may it continue.

Strange  :dontknow:  Buster does most things this season the supporters have asked mainly "local players" . He states his commitment top the club by appointing a "full time" general manager, states in the press he wants a working relationship with Setch on the same level as he does with Rob Lyon. Yet he is still questioned! It has to be remembered with out Buster ,his financial input on and off the field there wouldn't be the club, facilities or level of football there is currently. This season on and off the pitch is leaps and bounds ahead of last season and a massive step towards a bright future.

Who exactly is questioning Buster? I think that this thread in the main is quite constructive and relating only to his degree of influence within the decision making process?

Make no mistake Buster has done well so far and i am not knocking that, but if he engaged more with all parties that have an interest who knows where we might be.I seem to remember certain conditions applied when he was THE chosen one?.

new forum same old same old, without buster there wouldn't be a club.

"This season on and off the pitch is leaps and bounds ahead of last season and a massive step towards a bright future."

is this because a passionate football man is now in charge of the club?  please discuss

I have to agree Marcus, Setch is in sole charge of the club on a day to day basis, within a budget set by Buster. Buster is playing no part in the daily running of the club and the only thing he should receive any kudos for is putting the new set up in place.
As I keep saying we now have a club run by 'local' football people with a great majority of the players being 'local' and we are starting to see the benefits both on and off the pitch. One benefit was seen last night but people need to be patient.

Buster is a Speedway man, ( and a Bloody good one) he freely admits to not being a Football man.  So he has done the right thing and left  the control to a Football man, and a local one at that.    If your Boiler needs servicing you dont phone a Bricklayer.

Setch now has the Opportunity to build things back up.
