I think a few people expected some incoming, all depends on how much of a hammering the budget has taken by getting rid of Clark, and lower than anticipated attendances? :dontknow:

It could be lack of the right bodies being available/wanting to come or maybe the money needed is not available as Griss suggests. New boilers donít come cheap.

I think part of it, (assuming the budget issues are not insurmountable), is that IC is unlikely to be able to bring a player, at this time of year, to be a squad player. People are only likely to move if they can get assurances they'll get more game time than they are presently getting; or more money. We're only likely to sign starters, ala Marriot and Henderson, when what we really need is a few squad players.

So, assuming we are looking for a player to get into the first team, who are we looking to replace? Which CB is going to come in, knowing they'll very much be the third choice. Maybe an out and out RB, to free up Jones to give us some options to rotate in midfield?

The problem at present, is the gulf between our title challenging 1st 11, and our bench. The wafer thin nature of the squad, does start to make the number of loans and departures a month or so ago look a bit of a mistake.

Or, maybe there's some more sleeping superstars who used to be in Norwich/Villa's youth team that are about to come in. Or maybe a few Ipswich loanees to make the kind of impression Shaun McWilliams did a couple of years ago. I can hope.

I think we definitely need some cover, getting to that time of year when injuries and suspensions start to creep in. Loanees may be the way forward

No change required.  Small squad, tight unit. Siege mentality. Winning formula.

Couldn't be further from the truth, one change at right back on Saturday instantly changed us to mediocre in that position, good sides have strength in depth, few more injuries and the play-offs will be a struggle :dontknow:

I seem to recall that Cleeve said he would give Culverhouse as much support as he could in the quest for promotion.   So I think we can assume its about getting the right players in.  If The players that Culverhouse identifies as wanting, are then no available, what can he do ?   Break the bank to get them ?  Bring in players that may or may not do a job  ?   Surely better to wait to get the square peg for the square hole.

Only expectation now is for another defender to come in as the club is over spending on its players budget currently.

Castellan, Stewart and McQuaid can all be recalled from there loan deals as of last Saturday so we may see them come back potentially.

The playing  Budget today is no bigger than it was before IC came back in.  On his appointment Stephen Cleeve was on Radio Norfolk stating he would back IC on a promotion Push with cash.  Where has it been said now that the situation has changed and we are now over spending 93 ?

Surely if what you say is correct 93 and we are overspending, then any of Castellan, Stewart or McQuaid coming back to the Club will only make matters worse ?

Im just repeating what Iíve been told, who knows what the deals are with the clubs these players are at in terms of percentage of wages being paid.

My sense is that if the right defender was available he would be signed, the rest is all down to our run between now and probably December/January if we are in touching distance then yes maybe abit more money might be pumped in to strengthen the squad.

Every season there appears to be people speculating about budgets. At any Club, there's obviously only a very few people who will know exactly what the state of play is regarding budgets. Most of it is just rumour and speculation.

Sorry must have seen a diff game or player :dontknow: Richards very suspect positionally  albeit with little game time, where as jones could be the most valuable player in the team at the end of the season...very denis Irwin 7-8/10 every game
