Reserves have 9 games left to play this season.

8 of them at home!

Surely the reserves will be playing home games elsewhere next season?

We postpone the majority of there games to protect the pitch for the first team.

It will be the 2nd season with this Groundkeeper, who obviously knows what he is doing, plus the (ongoing) investment that has been made with drainage etc, surely there should be no reason why we should experience so many Reserve call offs next season.

If what 93 says is true, I do wonder what the Thurlow Nunn management committee thinks to that idea when games are called off to protect the pitch for first team fixtures ?

Have any games really been called off for this reason?

Maybe you could re-direct that question to 93.  It was his suggestion.

Sure I have no evidence, but nobody can tell me itís not fairly obvious. Itís also somewhat a running joke between ex Lynn reserves players on Twitter how games get called off.

93. A club canít just call a game off.  They would have to call in a local referee to call it.  Canít see the likes of Norman or Mark being party to such dealings as that.  I am sure they have more integrity than to be involved in such matters.

Even with the investment, I can't see things changing. Walks is a boggy area, the main stand blocks a lot of light to the near pitchside, those type of things you just can't change unless the investment is top level stuff, which just isn't viable at Step 3, even Step 2.

When was the last time (if it's ever been done) the whole Walks pitch been ripped up from the ground up. Might need the full works doing, with the pitch level raised slightly and whatever stuff the top sides have below the grass to help with things. But then you are likely reaching levels of spending where an artificial surface is more viable.
