Back in the days when we used to play in the Southern League Premier (late 60s/early 70s) what size crowds did we used to attract at that level? I used to attend virtually all home matches from 1968-1975 but memory fades with time :dontknow:

:oldman" Les, I'm with you on that one, age has got the better of me also, I would say around the 11-1200 mark but not sure on that. I do however remember standing on a freezing midweek night with around 300 in for Northern premier league matches. Oh how I miss visiting MOSSLEY  :farmer:

Blimey , visiting Mosely that brings back memories, what an unfriendly bunch their fans were. I remember going there on a coach and some Herbert with a purple Mohican lobbed half a brick at coach as we driving off

Final was against Burton Albion in 1983, beat them 3-2 I believe.
Great away days in those times

:bus: The true REALITY is,win today and we finish 2nd, lose or draw and 3rd is our finishing position, still a really credible finish. How many people would have expected us in truth to be in this position. We really must congratulate the players, manager, coaches and Mr. Cleeve for getting us into this position. COYL one big last push and we can win promotion.  :farmer:  :oldman"

Just hope that the massive following will make themselves heard in the play offs, and spend some money in the bar, carry on celebrating.  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

I went in the bar for the first time in many years last week, what a tied, dismal, lifeless place it has become. I fully understand why people don’t go in there. It needs the TVs to be switched onto a sports channel for a start.

Buster ripped the heart out of it when he came in just to try and put the trust and klits in their place, never been the same since. can be and should be a major, money earner,I used to promote the music nights there on Fridays and Saturdays always full and with a bar take that was used often to pay the players after a sat game, would take a big rethink to get back to that situation.
