With mid week games coming up which involve 3-4 of the 10 teams vying for the promotion and play off positions by next Saturday we shall find out where we are in the mix.

We are still very much in the competition to be one of those 5 teams, slight outsiders, but still on a good roll - I will be cheering them on in all of the remaining home games!

Form wise, we are still one of the top teams.
Leamington are now 5 wins from their last 6 so it shows how well we did to get a point there.

It really is all to play for as seemingly all those competing realistically for the title and / or a play off spot are capable of beating one another, so it will all come down to momentum driven by self belief and probably that little bit of luck at a crucial time?

It could be due to the warm and very wet winter we have had.

Pumps was on all night, I could have prob done my 25mm swimming badge on one part on the pitch.
The gaffa was a absolutely gutted the game was off with all the previous hard work done off the pitch to raise the profile of the game.
Let's hope we get a few dry days and plenty of wind if Tuesday's game will be off :(
Hope to see you all at Tuesday's game

Now is the time to get the FOTL to look at fundraising for pitch covers Backie? Fund raising seems to be at a standstill at the moment?  :dontknow:

Certainly crazy that you can get through most of the deep winter without a single call off at home then get to March and it happens.

If it had been 'borderline' on; it would have probably done longer term damage to the pitch to play it.

I take the point about long term damage possibly being done to the pitch but how times have changed from when you look back at old video footage of some pitch conditions that were deemed playable, not that many years ago - even in the First Division as was (Premier League). So now I wonder are decisions driven primarily by 'health and safety'?

Although it is great that so much modern football is played on 'bowling green' type surfaces perhaps as tends to happen in life, 'the pendulum' has swung back too far in the opposite direction?

Since the drainage system was refurbed we have not lost many games to the weather, shame sats game was one of the few, up until this system was enstalled even the first attempt, a match was often called off with a bit of rain and a wet dew!

In fairness, our drainage facilities are still better than many at this level. Most of our problems continue to lie with the run-off from the roof of the main stand. Our last First Team postponement at home I believe was Sheffield, and that was largely due to the state of the touchline along that side of the pitch as opposed to the whole pitch being unplayable.

When you look how many local games were called off this weekend it was hardly surprising that our's was called off. at home I had 27mm on the thursday night and on Saturday I had another 13 mm and with all that white stuff and rain this morning
I doubt that tomorrows game will go ahead

Think we have been very lucky where calls offs are concerned.  Seems to recall back at the start Under Boonie and Setch we had a good few down to the snow and Ice, but since then I don't recall more than the odd one here and there.

Shame Saturday got called off, but from a totally personal and selfish point of view it's another midweek game and they are easier to attend than Saturdays at present.
