Leamington at home Tuesday.
« on: November 10, 2019, 06:36:47 PM »
Great chance for us to be just a point behind York IF we can win this one.   Got to fancy us in this one.  Letís hope itís a decent turn out.

Was reading a Norwich City history book ( EDP Pink Un etc articles). Seems in 1971 Kings Lynn lost to Lockheed, who were to become Leamington.( apparently).

Can see a 3-0 home win. Great to see Wardy playing on Sat. Shame Ross didn't get a game on his Birthday having made his own way to ground from Sheffield. Can see a Mazza Hat-trick. 1100 crowd :)

Lockheed were a massive producer of brakes and clutches....Leamington nickname is now 'Brakes'

From memory May 85 was when we were pipped for promotion by Cheltenham on the last day of the season. We needed to win and them to drop points but they won with a late goal.
I can't remember the name of the higher league.

4 - 1 with 950 Attendance and I will be there  :oldman"

If we are well in command would this be a chance for Chris Henderson to team up with Adam Marriott  :worship: for 30-35mins and work on that as a pairing for Michael Gash's  :yellow card: :yellow card: (:red card:) Ban game/s  :dontknow: Who would you team Adam Marriott up with  :dontknow:

With no like for like replacement available to us in the squad,  I would go with Marriott on his own up top with an extra midfield player.

Jarvo up top with Marriott. Barrows right back Jones in Jarvo's spot or play Sam Kelly with Marriott. The latter option would be my preference.

What about either Sonny Carey or Payne with Adam Marriott. Both could be another "Fox in the Box".

Tonight, barring injuries not reported, I would go with:
Street
Ward, Burrows, McAuley
Jones, Jarvis, Payne, Fox
Henderson
Gash, Marriott

Thinking - Clunan has looked jaded at home and IC did hint he had a knock last weekend so give him a rest, Payne is more than capable alongside Jarvis and we have to find a way to cut down on the goals against column - last 8 league games since the clean sheet vs Darlington has seen a minimum of two conceded per game and Marriott can't be expected to cover that every game (in those 8 games we have conceded 17 and Marriott has scored 11!)

For Saturday assuming we are missing Gash through suspension and without any further injuries I would go with a front 3 of Kelly, Hawkins and Marriott and move the ball through the midfield more

I'd be surprised if he plays 3 at the back against a side who will probably only leave 1 up top.

Ainít it just great that here we are in November at step 2 Football expecting teams to come to the Walks with, shall we call it ĎLimited ambitioní.

Think we need to be out of the blocks from the start with a high tempo.  Should be a slick surface.

Will hopefully get over there tonight.  Should be an interesting night.
