Team of the Decade?
« on: December 20, 2019, 09:30:14 PM »
With it being the end of the decade, it seems the popular thing going round for other clubs at the moment, silly not to have some fun and reminisce about some of the great players over the past 10 years. This is the team I could come up with, some players very unlucky not to make the cut.

GK: Alex Street

RB: Cameron Norman
CB: Ross Watson
CB: Rory McAuley
LB:!Frazer Blake-Tracey

RM: Steve Spriggs
CM: George Thompson
CM: Lee Stevenson
LM: Jamie Thurlbourne

ST: Adam Marriott
ST: Michael Gash

Subs:
Danny Gay
Ryan Fryatt
Jordan Yong
Dan Quigley
Cameron King
Craig Parker.

Your turn?

Can think of a few extra names to throw into the mix.

Phil Gulliver
Dan Jacobs
Shane Tolley
Simon Lappin
David Bell
Russ Dunkley
Rob Hughes
Gary Mills
Ryan Clark
Shaun McWilliams

Ok spot the tongue in cheek one in that lot

Apart from the full backs who have gone onto better things, probably only one or two lads from the start of the decade who could even warrant a place in IC's current squad, so for me -

Street
Fryatt, Ward, McAuley
Norman, Clunan, Jarvis, Blake-Tracey
Thompson
Gash, Marriott

Could'nt go far wrong with Bunting,Dunkley and Quigley,If the latter had kept his head he could have done a job at this level. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Who would not be in my Team:

Jepson (can't recall anything he did well), Mettam (couldn't find the net), Hughes (not good enough asa play maker), Joachim (prima dona), Sands (yes, no, gone), Robbins (too damned volatile to fit in - another yes, no, gone), Holt (yes, yes, gone) Frew (jumped too soon for the ball and missed it) and Simon Clarke (manager  :laughcry: :laughcry: :laughcry:).

Bunting, Dunkley and Quigley ??!  A Xmas wind-up, if ever Ive seen one !  Bunting reminded me of those fairground players attached to rods..... legs straight up like a Tiller Girl, then brought down again with a bit of skin and bone on the end !
