Formations part 2
« on: January 12, 2020, 04:24:52 PM »
On football in general, and KL in our case, it was great to hear Pep Guardiola, in answer to another of these complicated questions about “formations”... “What is the thinking behind today’s formation (sic) ?”.  Following a mystified shrug of his shoulders he said, “Nothing - sometimes we have 3 , sometimes 5,  and sometimes 7.  We just try to pass the ball and score goals !  The players move !”  I’ve always thought that only in Subbuteo do these formations matter, because on the grass pitch the players MOVE !  Hope KLTFC keep passing the ball and scoring goals !  Don’t think you’ll see Pep talking balderddash with Carragher and Neville any time soon.  Talking point for a drab Sunday afternoon !!

Just read Ipswich Manager Paul Lambert having a go at the local
Press about their play on systems.  Basically saying it’s all about players not systems.

IC was no 2 to Lambert a few clubs.  Colchester, Norwich and Villa.
