BACK THE CLUB!!
« on: April 03, 2020, 09:17:08 AM »
Letís drive this total up today, everyone understands that itís hard times for everyone but even £5 from everyone would go a massive way to reaching the target.

We need to back Stephen Cleeve (chairman), heís created a team behind the scenes and on the field to produce some of the best football in years and proved the doubters wrong. He has worked wonders for this football club, by bringing us back alive. Put the past behind and help the club move even further forward. Do it for the club and town if not anything.

Seeing many clubs over the past weeks do similar in a way of asking fans to donate towards the running costs of the team. One team has stood out, Altrincham FC. Setting a £15,000 target, 8 days later being 80% to their target already!

Yes agreed Brad...but as Stan said before, set a target for people to aim for and it's likely to happen more quickly.

I think the target is £5000 Kes.

The appeal appear's to have stalled a bit in last few days, so good that Brad has mentioned it again.

Certainly is good news, hopefully the club can look into this. But still feel ya fans can still manage to reach the £5,000 target the club have set. This money could then be used however the club wishes.

For me, there isnít enough merchandise around the ground on a match day. Iíd like to see one day, where there was a big sale on the club merchandise like scarfs and hats, and possible shirts and jackets so we can have more merchandise out there on match days!

Good news in the press today with the FotL making a £5K donation to the club

This is exactly what the FotL is for, maybe if they were more visibly promoted and/or more fans supported them then they could make many more meaningful contributions going forward.  Only negative in the press release was a completely unnecessary sentence about the Trust which shows a complete ignorance of the differences between the FotL and the B&G Trust and is hardly likely to help relations if and when football does come out of this lockdown.

How to sour a piece of good news with yet another dig at the trust! Money was offered by the trust in line with trust rules and regulations as set down in the constitution,it was the club that declined the money! The FOTL have no such constitution so therefore their funds can be spent anyway the club sees fit,but to call it a supporters club it stretching things a bit,it does very little for the good of the supporters,it is primarily a fund raising body for the club!

Griss, if FOTL have now changed their name and status to that of a Supporters Club, I hope the Officials that run it know their legal responsibilities and the personal liabilities involved with doing so. If not, they could be leaving themselves wide open to problems.   :dontknow:

Great news.   Maybe we could get an update from the club where we really stand, even as an estimate.

.  5k Raised by FOTL
    5k target for the supporters
    40k Chairmans contribution
?k. Savings From Furloughed staff ( where eligible)
     ?K Government small Business support
?K. Premier League contribution to EFL and National League
     ? K. National League contribution
     ? K. FA contribution
?K Savings from players taking a 20% salary cut.

All looks positive.   Mr Cleeve seems to have pulled it all together.
