Win a 2020/2021 Season Ticket for The Walks
« on: July 07, 2020, 10:45:48 PM »
With the fantastic news that The Linnets have been promoted to The National League, success comes at a cost.
Much work was done last season to achieve the ground grading requirements for the National League North, and a Blue & Gold Trust fundraising effort
raised in excess of £4,000 towards these costs.
Promotion means that much more works will have to be done over the next season to satisfy the ground grading requirements of the National League.
The B&G Trust already have a fundraising initiative as can be seen on this website.
The Trust is now running a competition in an effort to raise further funds for the GDF.
The winner of the competition will win a ground season ticket for the 2020/2021 season.
The season ticket will be purchased by monies generously donated by local business and individual supporters who make up part of our football community.
Each entry into the competition will be at £10 each.  Multiple entries can be made.
Payment for entry can be made via the PAYPAL tab on the home page.  Alternatively, payment for entry by cash or cheque can be forwarded via post to The Blue & Gold Trust, 39, King John Avenue, King’s Lynn PE30 4QB.  Cheques must be payable to the Blue and Gold Supporters’ Trust.
All purchases must clearly be identified as for “Season Ticket Comp”, and contact details included.
All entrants will receive acknowledgement of their payment and all proceeds from the competition will go to the GDF.
The competition will conclude on Monday the 10th of August 2020.

Donations towards the GDF can also be made via PAYPAL by clicking on the GDF Thermometer on the home page or by cheque/cash as above.
Again, any donations must be clearly identified as “GDF donation”.

We would like to acknowledge the generous donations towards the cost of a season ticket from Evergreen Equity Release Solutions, ARC Fabrications, The Solar Shed, HARK Solutions and Lanes Motor Services.  All of the Trust Directors have also made personal contributions.  Many thanks also to Tony M, Colin M and others who have contributed.

I think it is right for the Trust to support the club’s required ground improvements. It would be helpful for fans to know what needs doing to meet the National League grading. Has the club let this be known? Would any improvements include a covered area behind at least one end of The Walks (long overdue in my opinion)? Is there a timescale for the work to be completed?  Any info would be appreciated.

Good post Colin.  Be interesting to know what project the Trust is undertaking to fund raise for.   Was the new turnstiles that they bought last season.

How can we be sure the money is going direct to Ground improvements and not going to something else, i.e. next seasons so called War Chest ?

Current requirements can be found here

I would guess it is up to the club to say what the Trust could help with - maybe the extra entrances   :dontknow:

Great initiative from the Trust and pleased to see the GDF back at the top of the posts on the forum.

SC did briefly cover season tickets at the end of a recent podcast - basically they will be going up and going up by quite a bit, particularly for those who took advantage of buying last years season ticket at 'Southern League' prices and with extra games and a higher standard I think most would expect to see some increase so maybe worth a flutter for those who want to support the GDF.

Mallard, I think until such time as the ground grading inspector produces a definitive list of required upgrades we should just accept that the Trust is raising money for GROUND DEVELOPMENT, whatever that may eventually entail.  I suppose you could argue that any donation will eventually go into the KLTFC pot but the mechanics the Trust has put in place it has done everything to ensure money raised for this specific cause will go in that direction and for now all funds will be in a separate bank account, split off from the main Trust account and then, based on previous experience, only handed over to the club for a specific project.

Tony I do wonder if the delay In announcing the season ticket/ admission prices that SC mentioned a couple of weeks ago was because he had wind of the vat reduction from 20% to 5% that Rishi  Sunek  announced today.   Will this apply to Football?  As well as Food and drink.

Cheaper Football, cheaper catering. sounds a win win

The amount in the GDF is looking healthy (thermometer on home page has been updated today), apparently helped by a single donation of £2,000.

Just wondering,as we are moving up the leagues can we fall into line with many clubs and make the season tickets transferable? So that if I have a season ticket and can't make a game I can allow A.N. Other to use it? :dontknow:

The Trust is delighted to confirm that interest in the new Ground Development Funding competition to win a season ticket has been exceptional with 23 entries as of today. We would also like to stress that any monies raised for the fund will only be spent on ground grading works and not given directly to the Club. On the last occasion the money raised was sent to Stadium Solutions who manufactured and installed the new turnstiles as sourced by the Trust and who then passed on the relevant information to Stephen.
