Awards Ceremony
« on: July 23, 2020, 08:29:26 PM »
By Greg Plummer, Lynn News.

King’s Lynn Town’s title-winning side have received the National League North championship trophy during a behind closed doors ceremony at The Walks this evening.

The event, which was streamed live via Facebook, had been a closely guarded secret in a bid to prevent crowds of fans gathering outside the ground.

The club took to social media ahead of the ceremony to urge supporters to watch the event from home, after gatherings were reported at both Anfield and Elland Road during trophy presentations to Liverpool and Leeds United last night.

The presentation comes more than a month after Lynn's promotion was first revealed, following the announcement that final league placings would be determined on a points per game basis.

The decision, which was formally ratified by the FA Council last week, meant Lynn overtook York City to claim top spot.

The trophy was presented by the league's managing director, Tony Wilson.

Surely the can of Carling each of them were given prior to their visit to the Nap a couple of weeks ago was sufficient!   :laughcry:
