Mcfadden
« on: October 27, 2020, 12:18:32 PM »
From Home page:

It has been announced online that Kyle Callan-McFadden has apparently agreed to sign for Lynn from Sligo Rovers when the Irish Premier Division fixtures reach completion, the final matches set to be played on the 8th of November.
The 25 year old (b. 20.4.95) who can play as a centre-half, right-back and in midfield joined Norwich City's Academy at the age of 16 as a first year scholar in the summer of 2011 having impressed in trials.
McFadden began with Irish side Swilly Rovers with whom he was capped at Republic of Ireland Under-16 level and he then received further caps with Norwich at Under 17 level.
He helped the Canaries win the FA Youth Cup playing in both legs of the final against Chelsea.
He made his first team debut for the Canaries on 28 July 2014 in a friendly against OGC Nice and his professional debut in Norwich's 3–1 League Cup second round victory against Crawley Town in August 2014, playing the full 90 minutes.
He was released by Norwich at the end of the 2014–15 season but later played for Ireland's Under-21s.
He moved on to join Orlando City B in October 2015 moving on to Sligo at the beginning of December 2016.
Apart from playing for the Canaries, McFadden also has links with Norfolk via his wife who has family in Tasburgh.
It is reported on loi-gc.com/ that his family have already moved to the UK.
“If fans come to see me they can expect to see hard tackles, powerful heading, and a player that’s good with the ball at his feet,” Callan-McFadden is quoted as saying in an On The Ball City match-day programme.

Well, he's certainly told us what to expect!

I'm not sure if Sligo are still in their Cup Competition, but if they are, then 8th November may be a bit optimistic!

With McAuley's self inflicted absence tonight there is a chance for Lupano to stake a claim to one of the central defensive slots, the report was a months loan with the option to extend which would give us cover almost to the 29th November although maybe IC would be looking for more depth at the back anyway?

Sligo's Facebook page from 28th October:

Sunday’s FAI Cup match with Derry City has been postponed due to Covid-19 cases within the Derry camp.
The FAI will reschedule the game for later in November.

FA Cup (Ire) still in progress with Sligo Rovers still in and 1/4 Finals Friday 20/11/2020

17:30  Sligo Rovers v Derry City
17:30  Finn Harps v Shamrock Rovers
19:45  Bohemians v Dundalk

Where does that leave Callan-McFadden to be able to join Lynn?

Hasn't played for Sligo since 3rd October.
League fixtures completed, Sligo qualify for Europe. So is McFadden out of contract and awaiting international clearance or will he stay until they are out of the Cup?
Sligo play their FAI Cup Quarter final match on 20th November which they have a chance of winning but will no doubt be thrashed by Shamrock Rovers who they will probably play in the semi.

Maybe he will excell at KL..Got the playes around him. We could really do with a good defender with pace and an eye for the ball..

If he's good with the ball at his feet he might be a natural successor to Jarv, so Lupano and McAuley with McFadden just in front
