Sligo Rovers defender Kyle Callan-McFadden is departing the club today as he is relocating to England for family reasons.

After four seasons with the Bit O’ Red, including becoming captain at the age of 22 in 2018, Kyle moves on with great wishes from everyone at the football club.

He will join King’s Lynn in England, a club located in Norfolk where his fiancé’s family are based and has secured employment.

The club would like to thank Kyle for his tremendous service, professionalism and representing Sligo Rovers in such a dedicated way over these four seasons.

We wish Kyle and his family great times ahead and look forward to welcoming them back for visits to The Showgrounds in the future.

It has been announced online that Kyle Callan-McFadden has apparently agreed to sign for Lynn from Sligo Rovers when the Irish Premier Division fixtures reach completion, the final matches set to be played on the 8th of November.

Any day now.

Club Statement | Kyle Callan-McFadden

We are aware that Sligo Rovers have released a story relating to Kyle Callan-McFadden.

We hope to have the relevant paperwork completed as quickly as possible before he joins up with the Linnets.

Now two weeks since SC’s last weekly podcast.  Must be lots to discus, both externally and internally.   Hopefully he can find an interesting guest for this one.

How about is mate Chris Akers.  Great way for the Lynn fans to get to know him.

Good news, but after a superb defensive performance against Barnet would you change the back line?

Hi
Good point, I agree but I would have him on the bench.

Think the only reasons for him not playing Saturday would be paperwork issues, or if IC feels he needs a little longer to get to know what the league is about (as he said with Mair for the first two matches).
McFadden seems like he will be integral to the side, so would expect him to be a regular pick before long.

He might well turn out to be "the saviour" and player we all hope he might be but shouldn't we wait until we've at least seen him play before piling pressure on his shoulders ??

On tuesday evening I was pleasantly surprised that the back 5, with ample support from the midfield 4, defended well. Although I had predicted that the Backs and Midfield needed to combine to layer the defensive formation.

What news Danny Lupano  :dontknow: Is he going to stay alongside McFadden and Rory McAuley  :dontknow:

Where will this leave Chris Smith who has had several good performances recently  :dontknow:

Against Dover I feel that the same starting Line-Up should remain with McFadden watching for the 1st Half then introduced with 30mins to go.
