National League clubs have been asked their views on these options:

1) Clubs take on long term low-interest loans with initial payment holidays

2) The League takes on the loan & gives clubs grants, with future League central payments to clubs then reduced

3)Suspend the season

Apols.  You’re right.  I did try to vote twice, but only because I pressed the wrong button on the first one  !

If the league takes on the loan, is it future members of the national league that are liable to repay the league in years that they’re in the national league, or do the clubs currently in the league become liable to the debt to the league?

I’d assumed it’s the former, but wondered if it might end up being the latter. Either way creates unfairness going forward though; either clubs paying a debt they didn’t accrue, or having a mixture of clubs in the league that owe the debt and don’t, creating competitive balance issues.

Isn't it a matter of the league taking out the loan and therefore member clubs do not receive as much money from the league in future seasons.
Therefore the clubs will be looking to either cut their cloth according to the reduced income or raising money themselves through sponsorship, admission fees, etc.

Yes, that's how I see it.......probably skews things further in favour of the bigger, more established, supported and connected clubs going forwards

A far too sensible idea!

The National League Board meets tomorrow to discuss the way forward.

Havant & Waterlooville, Concord Rangers & Slough Town have all said they don’t intend to play on Saturday.

At least 15 other clubs have also told the League they'd prefer to suspend the season.

Any idea which direction Lynn prefer to take?

Surely we will go for suspension rather than saddle the club with a long term loan to repay.   Why would anyone take a loan that they don’t need ?

The clubs that have voted to suspend.  If the vote goes against them will they be forced  to rack up a load of debt that they don’t want

If the league takes out the loan then the clubs have nothing to repay - the club just have reduced income in following seasons.

If the season is suspended then for how long? Currently furlough ends at the end of April.

That would make sense, but reading this from the BBC article I don't think it has been decided on yet.

"although it is not completely clear whether clubs would make repayments themselves or have future central payments withheld".

Thinking it's looking increasingly likely that the league will be suspended, if that's the case I'm not sure what will happen. Just leave it suspended till May and cram it in from May - July? Surely unviable, but who knows.

Null & void, meaning no promotion from National League which a lot of clubs will not like one bit?
