New signing
« on: May 26, 2021, 08:22:10 AM »
Lynn have announced the signing of Munashe Sundire ahead of the new season.

The 24 year old Zimbabwe national played for St Albans last season having joined them in November 2019.
Playing either at full back or in midfielder he had previously played for  Hemel Hempstead Town,  Kempston Rovers, Banbury United, Kettering Town, Chesham United, and St Ives Town.
He played against Lynn, and was Man-of-the-Match, when Lynn drew 1-1 with St Ives in January 2019.

Born in Zimbabwe he came to England at the age of two. A member of the Kempston Rovers Development team, he progressed into the first team in the 2016-17 season and was voted the fans\' player of the season.
He moved on to Kettering Town but having trouble getting a regular place in the first team, he moved on to Chesham United having made 11 appearances for the Poppies.
He returned to Kempston in March 2018 joining St Ives in July of the same year.

Looks like the ‘changing of the guard’ is under way.  This new lad looks like a replacement for Jarv.  Been a great signing for the club has Jarvis.  I hope IC finds a place for him at the club in a Coaching or Assistant Manager role.   Can see him being a Lynn no 1 for the future.

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

If this is a replacement for Jarvis, they are some mighty big boots to fill.

Ex Premier League players with that kind of hunger don’t come among very often.  For a lad to step up from NLS to replace a player of Jarv’s standing seems to indicate this new lad has something about him.

Why the association with Jarv , Mall....have I missed something ?..I think Coleman is more likely to fill the role ....thought he already had been.

Like the fact that the first two in are adding some real strength and energy to the squad.

Be interesting to see retained list as I thought  on streaming last night it said we had 11 players on contract.

Like KES, I assumed Coleman was coming in to fill the 'Jarvis role', but good to see we are bringing in new faces.

Understand the desire to keep players who have done well on the pitch involved with the club (there was a similar comment about King if he can't play next year) but we have to accept that there isn't a bottomless pit of money to pay support staff, although in Ryan's case I think he is the one I would most want to keep around.  I think it might be a situation where we keep either Jarvis or Gash, neither are likely to be in the starting 11 if we are going to push on next season but would provide some continuity and a 'known quantity' for IC.

One, partially related question, does anyone know if Bastock has managerial aspirations of his own ie would there be an 'assistant' spot available at some point in the future or do IC & PB come as a pair?

Personally, I'd be surprised if either of them are here for next season.

My thoughts on this are based entirely on the financial aspect, nothing to do with the players ability or desire to continue playing at this level.

Being at the game I missed that, without sounding like a broken record that really does show the dangers of giving extended (more than one year) contracts, carrying eleven of the current squad into next year would massively restrict the management's ability to make the necessary changes to the squad.  GS, were any names mentioned?

On the little I have seen/heard then I think the new lad looks to be a sit in midfield player.  Interesting that both the new signings can do the Jarv role.

As for keeping Jarvis I think he has certainly been involved with IC on the coaching side.   No disrespect to Bastock I think Jarv would bring more to the party as a no2.   Never know he might even be able to attract his mate Taylor to join at centre half :laughcry:

Sorry Tony but the only name of 11 still contracted that I can remember was Barrows.

I thought most of our contracted players were here to the end of June. The ones of the top of my head that are beyond that are Alex Brown May 2022, Ross Barrows  May 2022 and Dayle Southwell  May 22,

Would you take a punt on Jackson, KES ?  Or to far passed his SBD ?
