From Club website:

Rory McAuley has been suspended from all football activities at King’s Lynn Town Football Club with immediate effect.

The club will make a future statement in due course.

I guessed something was wrong when he didn't get a mention in the last two games following his one match suspension.

Bit of a strange and dramatic statement.........normally you would expect things to be sorted out in house and then one full and final statement made public

That Lynn have felt they need to get ahead of the story, given how slow they are normally to react to anything, suggests that something not good has gone on.

Guess that's why he's been missing from the squad recently.

What are the penalties for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs?

The maximum penalty for the conspiracy to supply Class A drugs is life imprisonment.
It should be noted that conspiracy to supply drugs is not the same as possession of drugs, which is a lesser charge. The possession of Class A drugs offence carries a maximum sentence of seven years imprisonment.
The sentence handed out by the judge will depend on various factors, including your role in the conspiracy and the number of drugs in question. Someone who is the ring-leader of a largescale drugs operation will receive a more severe sentence than someone who supplies a small amount of a Class A drug to a friend for personal use.

The article states that it was a large quantity, and conspiracy to supply.

Hence the case being heard in Crown Court rather than Magistrates. Just for perspective in a Magistrates Court sentencing appears to be of the order of up to £5000 fine and /or a max of 6 months ... and of course he may yet be found not guilty/acquitted

He may, but given that he had stuff in his car, in his house and the magistrates have already passed it up to the Crown Court suggests the case likely has merit.
