Been a few strange defensive replies on here. We all want this to be a positive experience, hopefully, so if someone raises a valid question, it is to be hoped they will receive an open and honest reply...that way, more and more people will be encouraged to join and participate.

I’ve seen nothing that would preclude me from joining.  I’m liking the noises Malc is making.  He certainly is full of enthusiasm and is looking to drive this forward.  Seems like he is going to be his own man and not be swayed by outside influences.

Hi Griss nice to hear from you ,regards when answering Nikki I will be careful off what I would say they are the fairer sex after all .well to say I have only been the Chairman for 3days I think I have created a bit more interest in the Fotlsc than before

That’s a given Malc.  If that’s the feedback after 3 days imagine the response in 3 weeks or 3 months.

Mallard hope some people on here will join the club it’s only £5. Per year so except a flood of applications then again I won’t hold my breath

I'd hate for you to have to hold your breath Malcolm, and feel its a shame that you feel that way. These are the people you have to work with and encourage to join, and is the task you have set yourself.

One suggestion I would make is not to call these people Buffoons. It was tried once before and caused a massive backlash which is still having an effect today.

It's ALL about engaging with people in the first instance. Once you have their ear, you are half way there.

Can I just say that I think Mallard has raised a very valid point as to what will be the focus of the fundraising.

I would be happy to join and to support any events / activities if I could see a direct result of the fundraising.

I know you have a lot going on at the moment so perhaps you could firm up your thoughts over the next few weeks and get back to us.
