Squad
« on: July 07, 2021, 03:14:22 PM »
After the news that Kyle Callan-McFadden had been retained and then that he had agreed new terms I'm not sure how many of last season's retained players are still with us or yet to agree new terms - if required.
So is our current squad:
Ross Barrows
Pierce Bird
Dan Bowry
Alex Brown
Michael Clunan
Ethan Coleman
Tyler Denton
Tai Fleming
Michael Gyasi
Aaron Jones
Paul Jones
Kyle Callan-McFadden
Cameron King
Junior Morias
Gold Omotayo
Dayle Southwell
Munashe Sundire
Out on loan: Joe Taylor
Unknown: Joe Gascoigne, Florian Guimdo-Tsaguim, Jordan Richards
Suspended: Rory McAuley

With McFadden and Jones still injured from last season surely we won’t be starting a friendly with MK Dons with just 14 players ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I would imagine there could be a few players by the name of A Trialist involved.

Unless there is an influx of signings then there will need to be.

The MK Dons Match will be divided into sections to allow changes of personnel so that trialists can participate for both teams

As far as I can tell, a 6ft 3 inch centre back....so I guess it's McFadden, Bird and Bowry when we need the 3.....with Fleming in reserve

Perhaps, also we shouldn't under estimate the effect that full time training will have on the individuals and group as a whole

We don’t yet know the standard of the new names, but from the Nemesis list, we look very short of a creative playmaker.  That puts the onus very much on to Cameron King, so we must hope he is fully fit again.  We look OK for huge Central defenders, which might help, unless the opponents play on the ground, which a lot of the unfair bar-stewards tend to do !

The tall players we have , can also play on the ground Dilly . You don't have to be five foot nothing to be able to run fast, tackle or pass a ball

Personally I would prefer to see no loanees till after Christmas.....be they from Norwich or indeed Ipswich Mall. Think it's important Lynn build a tight , youngish squad of their own during the early part of the season.I feel thats what IC is looking to do with Bird (22), Bowry(23), Gold and Nash.

Loanees can v easily dilute the team spirit in a camp, if one is not careful.

I agree that taller players can also run fast, and play on the ground, but that’s basically over long distances.  The short speed off the mark, over perhaps a couple of yards, is often where they have difficulty against nipsters.  Doku, Saka, Sterling, Mbappe, Chiesa, etc, have shown that this month. I know that’s International level, but the same differentials exist at NL level as well.  No worries though, I’m sure IC knows that as well …..

Usain Bolt was quite handy over a short distance Dilly !
