Some ideas for the game and going forward
1/Kids for a quid when accompanied by an adult is a must
2/Any game advertised and promoted professionally
3/Large sign at both ends of the ground a week in advance of the next home game .
4/Paid stewards
5/An away section in the stand that is known and segregated correctly.
6/The Tennyson avenue end needs to be a fully away end for security but also so the away fans are not crushed in a corner.
7/Programmes can stay at 3.50 but have a 50/50 number printed free inside.
We are now full time and want to keep going forward but we will not accomplish this with 1200 home fans as its obviously unsustainable.

All good ideas. Certainly a need to decrease prices for oaps and under 18s. I know several regular elderly attenders who are not going anymore due to a combination of factors in part fear of covid, increasing ill health but also due to high prices. Perhaps a scheme could be introduced for regular fans a 3 match ticket. Buy tickets for two  matches at full price and get third free. Surely it is better to have more home fans in ground they will spend money on drinks etc

All good ideas, many (if not all) which wont be listened to. The biggest issue i found is having away fans in every section of the ground. Surely make the away end bigger or sort the system so away fans cant buy tickets for the home ( hard one i know). As for paid stewards, the ones in the blue (contracted stewards) are paid i believe in the region of £45 per match were as Kings lynn stewards are paid NIL.

Many positives to take away from the game and of course there is always things which can be improved upon. UTFL

I said that price is the main reason for some of course it will not impact on fear of covid or increasing ill health but attending football is a habit and once broken the link is hard to re establish. I believe it is £16 for OAPs to attend notts county

  Pricing needs reducing for all, not just a few, l stayed away due to price yesterday. I could afford to attend but have decided not to attend due to total amount needed to fund my afternoon at the Walks. I await all the comments about not buying food or drink or a programme,I live out of town so need transportation to matches and car parking charges and I consider this all part of the experience but there is a ceiling as to what I am prepared too pay and KLTFC have now passed that mark.

Sorry but I can’t see where you were saying the main reason was the price.   Health surely comes way above cost.  So to that end admission should surely come bottom of your suggested 3 reasons

I seem to recall SC did a trial where the price was reduced and it did nothing to increase the overall gate receipts.

Surely a couple quid over the top aint that bad.  Plus remember a £1 of that goes to repaying the Clubs massive loan

Don't think supporters can accept that home support averages between 600 to 1500 not in there thousands. The only criticism I would have is if you are going to sell seats with numbers then the seats have got to be numbered.

If you can justify and can afford the money you will go....if you can't you won't.

I don't really buy this "it's only a couple of quid over the odds" argument.

Once the price goes above a person's threshold, that is it...whether it's by a quid or £50, as Dazza's eloquent post demonstrates.

Secondly if you are looking to attract new people/families to the ground, then every pound does matter....again as demonstrated by the Norwich fan who posted on here to say it was too expensive for him to come to Southend.


As I see it there are 2 choices.
The first is maximize the price and hope to rely on the core of 600-1500(as gs puts it) sticking with it  for the season, or

look to connect more with the potential fan base, market things better, improve the match day experience, have some offers on pricing and try to build the attendance and ultimately the revenue that way.

Success will bring in the 1500 plus a few floaters.  However if we struggle then it will be die hardship of 600.  Mid table will bring it somewhere in the middle.  As a club, today that’s where we are at.

Loads could be done to promote the Club to the local community and beyond.  To do that you have to employ the right people, who know what they are doing, and not done good old boy who just hangs around the club looking for crumbs from the table.  We have seen enough of them and what they can or cannot bring to the party.

How about A games for the teams which have a large travelling support and B games for the rest. Price B games 20% lower than A games.

That way Mr C maximises his revenue from the opposition supporters but allows more locals to see their team in action against the poorer supported visitors.

A little research should allow the Club to decide how to classify yhe games.
