A big "Lesson" ?......I am sure IC will be hot footing it to your door very soon Dilly for your next lecture

That's got to be a big confidence boost and nice  that Coleman and Sundire scored.

Hopefully at least one of the front two will open their account on Monday.

I expect a very similar starting line up for Monday, with a similar modus operandi

Good result today and important to get the first points on the board. Yes, it WAS against 10 men for a large part of the match but you can only beat what's put in front of you and its the result that matters.

It was a very defence-heavy, safety-first line-up, but, all credit, we sounded (on Somerset radio) like we were the better team.  But we struggled to score, because, although attackers can make up the numbers to keep them out, defenders can push them back, but not usually score.  When we balanced it, and had as many attackers as needed to push them back, we defended through being up their end, and scored, through having attackers up there instead of defenders, !!  Gyasi should have started, and hopefully will vs Chesterfield.  Gyasi and Rowley can frighten the lives out of teams, plus Marriott, to stick’ em home !!!  …..
         NEXT !…..  Football is a simple game…..

Dillmiester, sounds like you were there watching the game.  Football
Is a simple game complicated by players.  :laughcry:.    We have to accept that there is more than one way to win a game.   Not all teams can play like Man City in the Prem or Norwich in the Championship.    Look at Chelsea tonight first half performance to 2nd half.   They ended up with a hard earned point.  By shutting Liverpool out
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Change the record please Dilly......the key people in the two goals were  Coleman (a big defensive midfielder....a concept you disagree with) , who headed in the first and Omotayo (who to you is a big "lunk"), who by all accounts had a good game and headed against the bar , with Nash Sundire turning in the rebound.
Gyasi has looked good when coming on........at a time when Lynn are still in the game and going for it and running against tiring defenders who have been running around for an hour.
He looks a talent and IC will use him well as the season progresses, I am sure.

Ps with Morias, Omotayo, Linton, Rowley and possibly King, have we really got room for Marriott....a player who wanted a fresh challenge away from The Walks.

History shows that it's rarely as good for a player, second time around...

As good AS HE WAS do we really want Marriott back? He left chasing the pot of gold in his pocket, happy to sit on the bench at Barnet filling his pocket. Turning into a bit of a journeyman. Move on at least its stopped the campaign to have Defty back  :laughcry:

Marriott goals got us promoted not once, but twice.  So we have a massive amount to thankful for with him.   However that was at steps 3 then 2.   I go back to what I said previously.  Check his record at a higher level.  Think he has a ratio of 1 goal every 6 games.  So that’s something like 7 a season.

Time to move on from that one.

I agree , he would have been snapped up by a league 2 team but maybe age and ability was against him
