Firstly 859 is a disappointing figure however you try to dress it up, really don't know how SC can turn this around as any drop in the standard price (if that is the fix?) will, in turn, upset those who have already committed to a season ticket.  We did catch up with him 2 minutes before kick off and he said there wasn't much uptake on the kids offer but maybe something like that can be tried again but with a bit more publicity?

On the field I think that we are much, much better than last year but think IC got it wrong playing Walker rather than Linton as we (again) didn't have enough movement in front of the midfield.  Walker is a tricky one, he looks like a decent player but does look a bit like someone who was available rather than someone who fitted into what the squad needs, obviously early days in terms of how much time he has had with us but then why throw him into so soon?  Morias certainly looks like he has the character we might need in a relegation scrap but look like he wants drop off rather than play on that last defender and get himself on the end of things in the box which was basically his primary role yesterday until we swapped it round.

So, lots of positives from yesterday, particularly McGavin, Coleman and Rowley (in patches) but need to find a front three combination that can compliment the rest of the team as I think the formation and players behind them are working pretty well.

Yes a great first half, but if you can't score when you are well on top you
are answering for trouble. Dagenham changed a few things at half time#
and then were in charge. Attendance near to what I thought 700 to 900
I said.  I also spoke to the new announcer about why he was not putting any half-time full-time scores up and he said he had not been asked. Not a football fan I think.

Lots of positives..........but survival will depend on goals giving us points.

At the start of the season I would have hoped for a home point against the better sides.

So a point at home in the first 3 would be acceptable, didn't expect anything away to Yeovil and hoped for a point at Eastleigh......so that would still give us 4 points from 5 games.

Next two are really important........using the same criteria, I am hoping for apoint at Alty and 3 at home to Wealdstone.......... anything less and we will have an uphill struggle. We must get something from each of the next two and cannot afford to lose...... against the teams in our mini league, the points effectively count double..ie if we beat Wealdstone we are 3 points to the good against them, but lose and its 3 the other way.

We seem to lack composure in front of goal.......while we are short of out and out strikers, is it worth putting a young raw but confident  Joe Taylor on the bench and giving him 20 minutes to see what happens, if we are struggling to find the net in the next two matches ?

It also feels after 5 games that it's time to stop giving away goals in the first ten minutes of each half.........we can't afford to keep repeating errors.

I took this 15 minutes before kick off, 5 mins later North terrace supports flags were put up and then some 50 or so True fans arrived. The main reason for the low attendance is the high cost of Tickets, is it to pay for all these new ***** players who seem to dominate the starting XI, who are clearly skillful on the ball but do not play with the fun and swagger of teams of the recent past.

If the management ever read these comments, get Marriot back and you would immediately get 500 fans to come back, after all, we got Culverhouse back after he left.

From memory, I think the attendance was one of the smallest I've been to in over 25 years of going to the walks.

From Harry Kewell's interview it appears yesterday was Mazza first game back following Covid.

We would have won that game in the first half with Marriott.  The approach play was good; the chances were decent, and it needed a compose goal scorer.  Go get him !!!  We are now competitive, but have no goal scorers   Simples !

In fairness Marriot was well looked after and serviced by Gash.  The total was maybe greater than the sum of the parts.

Was happening with Jones now ?  Made the bench two weeks back but not been seen since.  Or Was the appearance on the bench just a ‘filler’?

With what we have I cannot see us in any danger of relegation. Then again by the same token with this squad we won’t make the top 10.  Maybe avoiding the bottom 3 is the target for the season.

The problem is with a bottom half look to us what gates will that attract. ? I read in Saturday’s EDP SC stating he is appointing a Commercial Director and then a Sales Consultant.  Plus a few other ideas on the table. Hmmmmmm
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Yep, can't see it making a difference of 500 if Marriott came back.  :dontknow:

Personally can't see it making any difference on any level if Mazza came back.... apart from the wage bill..........a fantastic player for us in the past and we are all extremely grateful.......now lets look to get behind a new striker who can do the job at NL level.

Well all I can say is , you haven’t attended many matches in 25 years as we have had many, many crowds lower than that figure over the years. I recall standing on the terrace on Tuesday nights with maybe around 300 fans present.
