Where was Gyasi ?  And the beauty of Marriott, or players like him, if we could find one, is that he/they don’t get involved in wrestling, or the push and shove rubbish that we’ve been told is part of today’s game up front, but only need a yard of space from the marker to enable them to slot it home !  They get the yard they need by a no-contact side-step to leave the marker nowhere.  That’s what we lack, IMHO.  If not Marriott, there must be someone, somewhere.  Maybe the lad Taylor, although I don’t know his style, but he certainly scores goals, albeit at a lower level.  I believe that a chance-taker can score goals at any level, as long as the team are good enough to make the openings.

I'm sure Taylor will get his opportunity when IC sees fit. Morias and Gold will hopefully gel once they get a run of games together. IC is after another forward and I'm sure that will happen soon. I think those wanting Adam Marriott back will be disappointed, unless you count the visit of Barnet of course.
This season is all about building a team for the next few years and of course not getting relegated. We look a decent side and should be fine. Hopefully the fans will be patient, this is after all, the National League.

Blimey MAH you have a short memory. 12/9/21 at 07.04.24 you were spouting from the keypad to bring back Marriott! That's the problem with computers if you don't delete previous posts they bite you on the bum.
I remember the previous supporters Club assisting bringing the likes of Danny Bloomfield to KLFC. What a signing that was, just short of 50 goals first season at the club.
I wonder if anyone out there is brave enough to actually say why they will not join the new Supporters Club. Without members you are wasting your valuable time. Could it be that in past days the Supporters Club ran the club shop where items were priced reasonably, 100 club with a £100 prize drawn at every home game,lottery bonus ball every week, away travel to most games, functions regularly in the Blue and Gold, End of season 3 day event in a marquee on the pitch of which 2 days were under the Supporters Club banner and included a players presentation day, Supporters Christmas lunch with usually 100 seated to a 3 course dinner in the Blue and Gold before the final game before Christmas, Auctions,quizzes, etc etc.

Replying to Gordon’s post.  I remember well, you and Kevin running the club shop etc. and running it as a proper supporters club should be run.  The “Friends of the Linnets” is in my view, farcical.  Hitherto it appears to have been run like a secret society.  I think supporters have now begun to realise that “investing” any money into the club is putting good money after bad.  The current owner has saddled the club with unmanageable debt.  In my view it is delusional to think that a small sum raised by a few supporters will make any difference. Using the fans as a cash cow has, I believe, failed already judging by the poor attendances of home supporters so far.  To use a phrase loved by the owner “kerching”, I think might well be exhausted- let me suggest another he might like to use “chickens coming home to roost”.

For all the money raised by supporters the old club still went pop with huge debts to HMRC (and probably others) and that was playing at a lower level than we are now and without a pandemic to tip them over the edge.  It looks like we have always seemed to attract owners who hope that the club is some sort of sleeping giant and if we could only get to step x the fans will turn out in their droves which will justify the 'investment' to get there, unfortunately that doesn't appear to be any more true now than it did under Bobbins, although not sure he did much investing of his own money.

Two good  posts, and in my opinion highlights the problems we have had before, and by the looks of things, could be having again.

It's a bit difficult to know exactly where we are financially, mainly due to the Carousel accounting being used. However when its previously been said, prior to taking a loan, that we can't afford to pay it back, I think we can all have an educated guess where we stand.

No lessons from history appear to have been learnt in Kings Lynn.

Sorry all paperwork is in storage as i am in the process of moving. All i will say is that over a period of years it was an awful lot of money. the very first cheque presented to Colin Nichols was 5 figures.

I specifically ran the supporters club abley assisted by Stephen Hooks when required and in respect of the clubshop assisted by Kevin Chase. I organised all the functions except the sit down end of season (friday) night in the marquee, i took over at 6am on the saturday mornings to rearrange the marquee for saturday nights totally sold out events and also sundays presentation days etc., away travel, stock/merchandise for the clubshop, dripfeeding new lines every home game to keep supporters interested. At the same time when Sally was unwell i had the booking diary for all the B&G functions EVERY friday and saturday evenings abley assisted by a great bar team. Also wakes, christenings, wedding receptions etc. Xmas Christmas Supporters 3 course lunches  again helped by Kevin Chase followed by auctions of memorabilia etc.
Moving forward to when i came out of hospital in 2015 i wanted to organise charity nights at the BLUE and GOLD of which i did the first 2 but because of the room being to expensive and not big enough i then ventured to larger things such as the Corn Exchange.
On one i occassion i tried to book the B&G for a 60th birthday party, quoted an absolute over the top price PLUS extra for plugging into the electric socket if not using a specific DJ!!!!!!!

Sounds like you came up against the "Anti business department".
