That is a result that should send tremors thro the Club.

Losing at home to a rel weak team who were reduced to 10 for the second half. As they put it , "a vital win" for them and a real blow to Lynn's chances. Matches against beatable sides don't come up that often in this league....when they come up, you have to pounce on them.

Can't help feeling a new forward is required urgently, because with a young side confidence can quickly fall away

Fully agree, KES.  Bleak prospects, I’m afraid.  Goal scorer needed is the one point that unites us all.  I feel a bit sorry for IC and SC, because there is a lot of luck in football, and they don’t have total control of it.  On the plus side, the chances are coming, and we are better, certainly than last season, and it’s is possible that a regular scorer could show we are still, just, on an upward path.  I’m not ramming my solution down any throats, but I would certainly like to see Marriott, or perhaps Joe Taylor receiving the ball in or near the opponent’s penalty box….

IC said he wanted to be competitive against all teams.  Somehow we need to move on to the next stage which has to be finding the back of net.  Hopefully now we have a Commercial Director onboard that will trigger an increase in revenue to bring in someone who can find the back of the net.

The biggest worry about today ( defeat apart) is just 885 fans turning out.  This must be a massive concern to SC.   Can’t see this figure improving unless we start getting results.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I agree Dilly....throw Joe Taylor in..... someone who is used to scoring......as said before think Marriott is a ship that has sailed...... there must be another forward around,be it Lowestoft,Kettering etc who is a regular scorer at that level who would love a chance at NL level... let's get them in and give them a go, before the situation becomes irretreivable........things can fall away quickly in this league..next up Altrincham and Maidenhead....at least 2 points required......once the little run of easier games goes, you're back to the games where you just hope to be competitive and are unlikely to get much. These games against the Wealdstone's and Weymouth s are so pivotal.

The big concern must be that neither of the long contact forward signings are really making much of an impact in terms of what they are ultimately.paid for ie goals.

This league is brutal. Lynn have improved hugely in goal and across the back line , but if they can't score, they will go down. All the other sides in Lynn's mini league had a free hit.last season too....and they have all improved too.

I am really disappointed and surprised that Lynn couldn't find a way past 10 man Wealdstone today.

I've only just been told about this. Nice to see it happening at last. Is the new guy full time employed by us or just a Consultant?

That's an option that really needs trying soon.

I fear we have used up our share of luck in the previous two seasons.

Yes, thats no good for a NL gate, but I think this was always likely to happen. We've been here before. Win and they will come. Lose and they won't, irrespective of what level the Club is at. If we've got all the right people in the right places, from top to bottom, there's plenty of time to turn it around. Lets see what happens in the week coming.

Marriott scored in Barnet's 3-1 win today.

The talk in the town is the admission cost and that's it simple as that .Real football fans know the time of day and have lots of connections with other clubs and fans.I was chatting to a QPR season ticket holder in the week and he actually laughed when I told him our pricing structure.

Sadly this season is going exactly as I predicted and feared! To think that some in here and at the club were "expecting" a mid table finish at worse!, is mind boggling! Scoring goals this season, just like last season, is proving to be the Achilles heel but you don't get efficient and clinical strikers at this level without having to splash some reasonable dosh and even then, still get lucky.
Crowds (which already are nowhere near enough to keep the club going this season) will continue to plummet and sadly I think there is a chance the club may not even survive until the end of the season and if it does, its going to be in a horrendous financial state :(
Sad times and real worries.

Don't think we have progressed from our par time days in fact I think we're better. We are totally lacking up front and need sorting quick even if it means shipping out players. Where was sense in playing from back when they parked all players along penalty area. Clueless is only word to describe today.

At the risk of repeating myself - When are we going to have a player on the far side to collect the long ball, overhit ball, rebound out from the box etc. etc.  :dontknow:

We have a good 1/2 a dozen such happenings today and not one collected and recycled back into the attack.

We spent a lot of time building from the back, going across the pitch then back a few yards. Time wasted and the Wealdstone defence had time to reorganise the depth of their defence.

I'm sure that the majority of people think the admission price is too high, but I really don't think it is as simple as that. Major factor maybe, but not the only issue.

For example, I don't think the admission price would effect the lack of sponsorship and such things as low commercial activity.

Some Supporters have spoken about the admission price on other social media platforms and have said they won't attend games. Although I think its unlikely, let's see if the Club  take the supporters opinion on board. If they don't, I hope they don't just ignore their comments.

Commercially, the Club have now appointed a person with experience to head things up, so there could be a big improvement seen very quickly. More money in for the Club, more money for IC to get the right person in to start putting the ball in the back of the net.

People have previously said that off field activity has not kept up with on field progression in recent seasons. I don't think many will disagree with that. An effort to rectify this now appears to be happening, and the Club looks as if its at least trying to get  the right people into the right jobs, and not  just appoint people who are just hanging around.

A bit of a change going on at the moment. Off field now starting to go in the right direction, but on field it seems to be going the wrong way, for now at least.

If he's given what he needs, IC is the man to sort the latter out.

If the attendance does not increase as the level of the game climbs, then it is a sure indicator that the club has gone beyond the level it should be. Histon , Rushdon etc etc ...The public either do not like the price or there just is not the interest, until a play off final or cup run is on offer. Two levels to high....
