Joe Taylor
« on: October 09, 2021, 08:45:12 PM »
So after banging a drum the past few weeks Joe came on as sub today.
Any views on those present to witness. Down side is that in KLTFC wisdom we did not insist on him not playing cup games so now he will not be available for next saturdays FA cup game because of a substitute appearance for Wroxham previous tie with Mildenhall.

Thought he was ok , but think he was blowing by the end of the game as the diff between step 1 to 5  and itís a lot to put on his shoulders , IMO thought it was a big call by IC to put him on in a game which was scoreless and against a team going well ( canít see how ) I would of thought zain or gyasi would of got the nod first .
Not knocking the lad but let him have the season at wroxham ..

He won't score for Lynn by playing for Wroxham !
Lynn desperately need to find a goalscorer, so think Joe may stay in the squad....we will have a better idea of him at this level after half a dozen appearances. Neither Walker or Gyasi have been bulging the net of late.

Has an excellent  turn of speed and in my opinion I think he would have been better playing alongside Linton. Can only benefit him staying in the quad now.

No he isnt going to score for lynn while at wroxham , but like I said itís a lot to put on him when our fans are turning on the front line and if things donít work out  I wouldnít want to see his confidence knocked by aggravated few fans , just thought bringing on gyasi or zain would be more creative .. :dontknow:

I agree with KES that it is obviously a big step up for Joe and he will need some time to adjust but there was enough positivity in his play to justify giving him more chances.  As for Walker, I think his loan spell ends next week and I can't see that being extended and Gyasi hasn't really done anything to justify getting more game time imo.

He certainly raised the spirit of the crowd when he came on and being a local lad I am sure he will get good local support as well. On the ball his contribution was good but lacked any real support. In the last 15 minutes a lot of the players were puffing and blowing a lot, I think 6 were playing with colds. Very early days and it will be a big learning experience for the lad.

Good luck to him!

Step 5.To step 1 is a huge ask but it was so refreshing to see a local lad give it a go..and who knows the lad has a prolific scoring record and I have no doubt given time albeit coming off the bench at times he has the promise to do well 🙏.👏🏻👏🏻
At the moment what have we to lose🤔

Always good to see local players as it motivates the local interest.
The best performers seem to be amongst those with pride in the
Local area. Yesterday Aaron Jones and Michael Clunan two who were playing with conviction and enthusiasm. Last season Gash- Peterborough , Marriott- Brandon
not Norfolk but still near enough to create the energy and drive to make Linnets the best non league club in East Anglia which brings me to further points.
What are the advantages of being a full time club?
The summer recruits and loan players are disappointing ( one exception being Paul Jones)
The above comments are made after watching 540 minutes of league football this season and two goals!

Might be a bit of 'selective memory' there CL - not sure Gash or Marriott ever considered KL as their local club (may have been different for Jarvis) but fully take on board that the spirit that IC helped build over his tenure is now in a state of flux due to the necessary player turnover as we have risen up through the leagues the past couple of seasons.

Appreciate we are now ten games in and two goals in six home games obviously isn't good enough but I would still maintain we are better than last year - we are 'in' most games and probably haven't always got what we have deserved from games but understand that we do need points on the board.  Personally I have been pleased with the recruitment this season - signings Bird and Coleman are both considerably better than who they replaced and on the loan front Rowley continues to be a bright spot although whether we can keep him after January remains to be seen.

Full time was a gamble - IC pushed for it and SC has backed him - but I guess we will only know if it was worth it come the end of the season.

Really don't understand that.....he had next to no time to train with the first team before Solihulland he could be training with them this week.

He's either a first team squad player or a Wroxham.player.....chopping and changing does no one any favours IMO.

Guess that means that he still don't figure in the Managers plans for the time being at least. As its no secret we need additional fire power, I wonder if that means Culverhouse is confident of briniging someone in soon.   :dontknow:
