Why would you say the money isn’t there KES ?   Do you think SC has already burnt through all of the 500k loans ?   Also if bringing a striker in was the difference between staying in the NL or being relegated to the NLN then would you not think that SC would dip once again into his own pocket to find that few grand extra ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

In the past, I personally have had the feeling that IC has been dismissive of Cup matches, preferring to concentrate on the league.......

I've heard that said.    :dontknow:

Now the need for cash is just as important. :bankrupt:

Don't think the loan is used up Mall, but nor should he look to use it all up.

Also don't think SC has personal monies to throw in any more.

When asked at the Fans Forum by Backie about money for a new striker, SC's reply was "depends on the crowds" or something similar. Difficult to know if that was a case of "you ask me this question and I will reply in this way" or whether it was a genuine appraisal of the situation.

However, huge ongoing expenses involved in being full time, providing accommodation etc.

My feeling is that a good cup run with a televised game is what is required to bring in a striker capable of 20-25 goals a season at NL level.

Mall, I am not sure anyone knows what proportion of the loans remain unspent but given that the previous promotions were secured with a fair degree of financial doping and I can't imagine 2020-21 or the current season's budget were set with a view to breaking even and with COVID I guess we have already spent a fair chunk and that is probably without lower than anticipated (in some quarters) crowds and the fact that repayments have already started on the bounce back loan.

At the recent fans forum, SC did say that all of the modelling and planning for the future was based on staying in the current division but whether that is worth yet more cash is really down to SC, personally I think we have already gambled more than is reasonable for the future of the club so I would accept that the budget is what it is and if we can't secure NL football with that then so be it.  SC said the Sport England loan repayments kick in in four years time - that is a hell of a long timeframe to maintain NL status and lets be honest are we unlikely to be able to do that without a massive cash injection from elsewhere so maybe we should start trying to live within our means sooner rather than later?

KES, you beat me to it and yes, there was an element that the question from Backie was a set up to allow SC to give the 'depends on crowds' response.  Certainly if the two games since the price reduction are anything to go by we won't see a new striker anytime soon

Give him the right price, I'm sure someone at the Club could come up with some.

Just check the label in case its really Unicorn manure.

When did the £500k loan actually kick in last season ?   My feeling was it was either around or after we decided to run with players who were playing for expenses or for very little financial  reward.  Plus I guess SC would have received the National League share out money and a decent fee for Carey.

If, on the other hand The £500k has already been allocated over this season.  Then the question comes where do the funds come from for next season and the season after.

Kings Lynn, on Saturday had the 2nd lowest crowd attendance in the NL only kept of bottom by a cast adrift Dover.  Midweek Wrexham had their record NL crowd in attendance with over 9,000 turning up.  That shows the difference between clubs who get their PR bang on the money.

Ok we will never match the likes of Wrexham in terms of numbers. Then again we should be pulling in more than Boreham Wood and Wealdstone.    Even with admission costs greatly reduced at The Walks the crowds are still not matching our last season in NLN.  So in effect we have gone up a level and crowds have dropped off.

Good crowds at The Walks have always been dependent on a successful side...its chicken and egg...we need to score to get the results to get the crowds to get the money to get the striker to score the goals.......ps don't see the need for a rocking horse. :laughcry:

Maybe a silly question but....has anyone apart from S.C actually seen and studied the accounts over the last few years.
