TONIGHTS PREVIEW
« on: October 26, 2021, 11:44:31 AM »
Just read the preview of tonight's game on the official club website and it looks as though according to the team news that Morias,Bird,Bowry,Barrett & King are all still injured.
That means that on top of Saturday's 13 we might have Taylor available which will mean we only have 3 subs.
Whatever is happening at the club at the moment is anybody's guess, why do we not recall Fleming and one of the two at Wisbeech who has been playing which would at least give us a full contingent of subs.

I think "media" has been redefined to anything video related.

And from Saturday, where's Devonshire?   :dontknow:

Is JC back and heading up the media?

Two classics from those days were about his "ludicrous" job, presumably trying to inform us of the money he was earning, and wishing the "barmy Limmets" well.

Really show's you how far this Club has progressed with its off field activity. :)

My post was with regard to the injuries as stated in the preview.
If you wish to make it about the club Media etc please post your own topic not hijack another one on a completely different subject.

The term "Devon" is normally used for everyday purposes, e.g. "Devon County Council" but "Devonshire" continues to be used in the names of the "Devonshire and Dorset Regiment" (until 2007) and "The Devonshire Association". One erroneous theory is that the "shire" suffix is due to a mistake in the making of the original letters patent for the Duke of Devonshire, resident in Derbyshire. However, there are references to "Defenascire" in Anglo-Saxon texts from before 1000 AD (this would mean "Shire of the Devonians"),[8] which translates to modern English as "Devonshire". The term Devonshire may have originated around the 8th century, when it changed from Dumnonia (Latin) to Defenascir.

Normski, going back to your original topic, I don't understand why Fleming hasn't been recalled, we have now gone a month without a defender on the bench (Bird injured 11/9, Denton 28/9 just as Jones was getting back to match fitness and now Denton has returned so Bowry is out).  Either the injuries have proven more serious than first thought or IC doesn't see Fleming as part of his plans in which case why has he been retained and loaned out this season (when the loan was announced I am sure it said we retained the right of recall).  Given that we looked short for the Peterborough game (Rowley was on his way back to Chesterfield before the injury and Barrett wasn't fit but still made the bench) I do worry why haven't we managed to pull someone in on a short term loan deal?  Appreciate any deal has to work for both clubs and the player involved but to go into one game with three gaps on the subs bench is bad enough, to go into the following game short again smacks of a more serious underlying problem.

SC said at the fans meeting he had a month ago that he knew things needed improving.  Got to give him time.
