Wrexham at home 🤔
« on: November 08, 2021, 08:02:42 AM »
Massive test again this weekend, on and off the pitch...
1) would like to see Barrett and mcgavin start from the beginning,
Perhaps we could score early and then defend and counter for a change 🤔
2) will we be prepared for the onslaught of Welsh fans who could top
1500 plus?
3) 1-1... For me.... 🙏🙏

Not sure Josh Barrett is fully fit to play 90 minutes, but that doesn't stop him from starting. Would like to see McGavin on at the start of all games. Wouldn't be surprised to see a new forward coming in very soon. Gold didn't start against Walsall and although he played ok when he came on, he hasn't done what is expected of him, by scoring goals.
Taylor could figure I guess and maybe should get a run of games to see if he can do what the other forwards can't.

Given our home form I would accept we need to mix things up but Barrett looks nowhere near match fit to me, other than maybe a brief cameo once the opposition are content to play it safe and McGavin continues to flatter to deceive - doesn't want to do the work required of a midfielder and I don't think we can we carry a player just in case we get the odd free kick in his range?  Most pleasing aspect of the Walsall game for me was the return of Bird, so decision for IC to make about a back 3 or back 4 (by my calculations we have started 3 games with a back four and ended up losing all three, conceding 7 and scoring none but Bird was injured for all of those games)

I still think starting Barrett could be beneficial with his passing and reading of the game. We need to take the game to opponents from the off, at the moment, we seem to only do that in the second half, by which time we are losing.
Would be interesting to see how the match Pan's out, should we take the lead. The confidence and whole mood would be good. I'm still optimistic that we will come good. I see we have signed a new defender today, guess we were hoping for a forward, but I'm sure SC and IC are working on that.

So Aldershot had the same amount of home fans on a Tuesday night in the league as Lynn did in the F.A  Cup against league opposition on a Saturday afternoon.

No arrests as lynns wanna be stone island hardcore won’t be there as they  don’t fancy Wrexham’s firm /also no women stewards to pick on

Bit of a poisoned chalice that job.   The world and his is expecting nothing less than promotion with all that high profile backing and media coverage.

I do wonder what happens if year two is still at NL level.  Will Hollywood turn into Woolywood? I would wager they won’t phone, they won’t  text, they won’t email.
