I think the thing with Tommy is we don't really know what he has inherited - what sort of a state the club is in, both on and off the pitch.

So, he will need time to sort it out - if it is a mess and if he is the man for the job.

Football is a results business (as we all know) and at the moment he isn't getting the results - be that down to his tactics/selection, or the players or a combination of both.

I listened to him on Radio Norfolk after the match and he was clearly unhappy, but he put part of the blame on the pitch........now personally, I will never see the state of a pitch as a reason for a defeat - it's the same for all 22 players out there and Maidenhead's players managed to score four times on that 'bad' pitch

The jury is still out for me with Tommy Widdrington.
Personally I think this season is over and sadly we will be relegated, so if Tommy sticks around, it will be next season we can judge him properly

The problem is can SC trust himself to get the next appointment as Manager right?  The track record doesn’t look great so far.  Plus also can the club actually afford to pay up the Manager’s contract plus players that need showing the door and coaching staff.   Sounds a right mess to clear up.  Yet again.

As for that list Loopy.  Defty 100%.  The rest were average step 3 players.  One of which ended up not bothering to turn up for games.  Can’t put Jack in with those others.  They were just players passing through.

With Mallard on that.  Defty was a player; the other three were lunks.  At football, 99 times out of 100, players beat lunks.  For 2 solid seasons we have had dozens of defenders and very few creatives.  Whether that was due to a lack of contacts or a lack of taste is open to conjecture.  I do appreciate that Covid and lack of cash were significant contributory factors as well.  Still think SC deserves praise and constructive criticism, as we all do, but not outright insults.  We do need a clear out of management and players for next season, then the creation of a versatile and creative side, and not simple “fighters”.

Perhaps the club will be put in the stewardship of the Linnets in the Community charitable trustees.

Have to disagree on that one Loopy.   Jack was let go by Setch.   Chappers ( Lowestoft Manager) couldn’t believe his luck in getting Jack.  He certainly delivered with Lowestoft winning the step 3 League.

The problem with Jack was that his alcohol consumption was just not good enough to be able to compete with the other squad members.

First time he was called a lightweight!

You say the jurys out, how many does the jury consist of so far only so certain members of this forum. I mean certain members are fake names consisting of a ex manager and ex director of football (or they were the last time I and many others knew)

Hes inherited half the team for god sake! I sit back and read the forum and half the time I laugh that hard my sides hurt. Get behind the team and support them. Give Tommy a chance at step 2.

As I am sure you are aware, such comments are also on other social media sites as well.

Which names do you believe are being used on this forum by an ex manager and an ex DoF?

Maybe you are right about giving Tommy a chance at step 2, as it appears to many that he has been recruiting step 2 (and maybe 3) players.

Cheapest option would be to keep Tommy West.  Think all it will do is kick the can down the road though.

Tommy sure inherited some bang average players, for Step 1.   Trouble is he has kept them and added some more bang average players from lower levels.
