FANS FORUM ANYONE?

Anyone think there is a need for another fans forum? Chairman and manager in the hot seat? :dontknow:

Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one.

Just arrange it.  Set  a date, book it up, advertise it.  It's a fans forum,  if players, management or board want to attend, great.  But i've always been of the mind that you should should crack on with good ideas until you're told it's not happening by those in authority.

Just do it, let ppl know and in between all the bitching and moaning from the regular bitches and moaners,  it'll be appreciated by most.

Its a good Idea but it will never work! In my opinion the Chairman and manager would never take part. They can do that on here if they wanted to. Why not just add a "Category" on the main board
and see what happens.

Not so sure on this one Anton.

The Chairman was good enough to attend one previously, even if the timing was a bit strange which meant that many were unable to attend.

Those that attended apparently came away quite upbeat.

I don't think IC would have been very keen to attend such a meeting, but I think Tommy is an entirely different animal.

I feel he would attend if one was held. I don't think he try and duck out of it.

Who was The MC for the last one ?  Was it an open forum or were the questions agreed in advance and therefore ‘loaded’ ?

Chairman must be due another Podcast surely ?  Though he is generally all over the place with the timing on those.

Not sure if you count me in the latter group, but I would question whether it is a 'good idea' as I can't really understand what would be achieved, appreciate there may be a few who want to go along and vent their anger at perceived mistakes over the past couple of months / years but unless that would lead to different decisions being made in the future and / or the fanbase better appreciating the constraints the club is working within then what is the point?

Maybe worth having one at the end of the season to gauge fans views on the direction the club takes going forward but currently the club is heavily reliant on one man's subsidy and until that changes how the club is run is really down to him.  Do I think that is right, no, but unfortunately it is the position the club finds itself in and given the level of support / engagement for the FotL and the Trust I can't see that changing anytime soon.

In the early days of Cleeve being here and when Hearle was interviewing him, I think it was very obvious that questions had been agreed in advance. In fact I seem to remember thinking how sad it was that they thought it ok to subject the Supporters to it.

Things have moved on and I understand that at the last fans forum Cleeve was in good form, took any questions put to him from the floor in a good manner and answered as accurately as he could, with nothing to suggest that he was answering "agreed" questions. I think he did himself a lot of good at the last forum and created some positive vibes.

I remember that.  Was the same on the Blogs where it was all set up before hand.  Hardly Oscar winning performances from either.

It’s good now that Hearle isn’t there that SC feels he doesn’t need to do that kind of arrangement anymore

Yes, the most recent forum earlier this season it wasn't MC'd as such, basically SC just took questions from the floor and, to be fair to him, tried to give an answer to all of them.  Obviously not everyone in attendance agreed with his take on certain situations or the decisions that had been made but SC was prepared to sit there and make himself available.  The only question that could have been classed as 'loaded' was when Backie asked about a new striker and SC said it would depend on gate revenue, the forum came just prior to the entrance fees dropping.

As for the next podcast, SC did say in the last one that he was finding it difficult to commit the time and also it would depend on finding suitable guests so I guess he has been focusing his time on adding to TW's squad.  Maybe another argument for one man not trying to do everything but starting to sound like a broken record on that one.

I thought SC said the fans could hang their hat on him doing a Podcast one a month and he was happy to commit to that.    The last one was maybe one of the better ones he has done.  I know the strength of the Podcast tends to be very much on the quality of the guest but they have come a long way since those rehearsed internal ones that he did
