Entrance fee?
« on: May 22, 2016, 12:06:21 PM »
I think we can safely assume that the reserves entrance fee will remain the same going on what we have heard from Tazz,  but will the first team remain the same considering Setch is pulling in advertising /sponsorship?  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

I think it would be wholly misguided and ultimately self defeating to increase it

Not sure I see it that way Spiro.  If Setch is getting the full  income from advertising stream and he is out there chasing every contact he has then that to me says there could well be a huge increase in the budget.

Can't see why there should be. There can't be any significant increase in expenditure this coming season.
No budget increase and more of the income generated being allowed to stay within Club. Setch actively looking for more sponsorship and advertising to increase revenue further. Club shop sales adding to it as well. Reserves run at a surplus, and are now back within the Club, so additional income from there if gates hold up. His U18's fully funded.
Why would there need to be any increase?
I'm sure Setch know's that his Club has supporters, not customers, and he's the Club General Manager these days and is calling the shots. An increase would make no sense at all.
In Setch we trust.

I wouldnt take in to account club shop sales adding to the budget this year,  Purley down to the fact the club will have a massive cost out lay in the first place to fully stock up a club shop and to buy in players and managements kits, trainingwear and match day tracksuits etc  However if attendances get upto around the 800 mark then i see the club shop at least breaking even or having a small surplus adding to the budget.

Ikon, So are you saying if the average gate is well under 800 then the club shop will work at a loss ?

Only during the first season of the club taking it in house while they build up stock levels etc.  The initial setting up a club shop isn't cheep but long term I'm sure it will bring in good income enabling money to go in the playing budget.

Ikon, I understand about set up costs, that's the same in any business.  However when you come to the end of a FY then the stock value will be part of the P&L  account.  Stock has to be a very fluid part of any business.
