All sounds fair enough to me, although surprised that still plans to be full time next season.

Think both Managers and The Chairman should take equal responsibility.  Easy to deflect the blame elsewhere.   If Tommy gets us back up next season then he’s matched what Culverhouse achieved.

Mind Culverhouse took us up as a part time Club.

Yes, the impression was given that when 'Tommy' s Team' lost, it was because they had previously been coached to pass the ball too much.  Yet, when 'Tommy' s Team' won, it was because he had played with Matt Le Tissier.

Millard, do you think he would have still managed to do that if the Pandemic had not put an end to the season?

The problem is , when we got promoted by default a couple of seasons ago due to covid, I felt as a club we wasn't ready for the big step up, and with no one going down last season, we could of built a team that could be at least mid table.

Summer recruitment for me was honestly a car crash apart from Paul Jones , and before Cully was let go, most was playing for a wage and not for the club. Since Tommy came in, we have kept in games , some not going our way, but you can tell that he hasn't managed in while as a few game we have let slip e.g. Yeovil as we sat back too much and gave away too many points from teams we should be beating e.g. dover away and Maidenhead at home for a start.

It is going to be a long summer of comings and goings, and its not going to be easy in the north, its all about getting the club back in its feet and with the right recruitment and taking the players on a lot of money or not playing off the books

Who knows.  We were in a poor run of form at the time so the timing of the calling a halt was perfect for Lynn.  It certainly went our way.

We can only deal with facts not what if’s or maybe’s.  Yesterday we got relegated.  Collective responsibility.  No good TW trying to push the blame elsewhere.  He was brought in to do a job and failed.

The good thing is next season he has a clean sheet of paper and can be judged on what he achieves then.  He has the chance to redeem himself.

It seems in the Chairmans EDP column he recognise all the mistakes and is preparing to put things right in readiness for next season.  So to that end he also has a clean sheet of paper.

Have to think it’s a total rethink for all at the Club.  Let’s hope they all get more right than wrong.

The first thing we need to do is go back to being part time, we may have players on full time contracts, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind, I
don't think there will be a rush of clubs to sign our players going out of the door. I also think you get more effort from part time players. This would save the club a load of cash.  Im also puzzled by Barrett, when we took him on board we knew he wasn't fit.   Well watching him yesterday, he looks the same as he did the first day he played.

I thought I read we are staying full time.  I see a few positives in terms of finances for next season.

1. Chairman saying he should be able to stick £200k

2.  Best shirt sponsorship deals in the Clubs history.

3.  New commercial Director onboard with a remote to get a Ground sponsor.

4.  Summer entertainment outside at The Walks ( 4 events).

5.  Gates hitting 1400 if we are successful on the pitch

6. Reduced players/Management wages for playing at a lower level..

If we could also get a decent cup run, Malc and his Fiends making a a decent few quid to inject into the Club.

That all adds up to some serious money.

Appears to me by the most recent Tommy comments,  is that he's a man that definitely knows what he wants.

No problem with that.

I do think that some of the items on his recent wish list, may be asking a bit too much, especially on  forecasted gates of only circa 800.

Also can't see a certain someone giving up control and management of parts of the Club.

Be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Certainly  in last interview the manager and assistant seem to know what they are talking about and what is needed with regards to infrastructure of the club. Hope they are given  free reign to sort club out.

I'm sure that having someone that  understands the economics of football will be a great asset to the Club.

Tommy certainly has some fixed ideas on how he will return us to the top Division of Non League Football.

SC and his new Commercial Manager will have their work cut out to fund all of that.  I think the idea Tommy has of being handed responsibility for the full budget all connected to the playing side makes sense.  I guess this would include.

Coaching, Medical and Management salaries
Travel
Overnight stays
Signing on fees
Players wages
Transfer fee
Training facilities including gym and swimming pool.

So only just about a complete u-turn required by the Owner to let go of control to this extent. Good luck with that.      TW appears to have got his own way so far, how long will it last?
